MagicBand testing

I believe the AKV - Jambo house and perhaps BCV are the current testing. I've not heard of the next resorts to be tested but reports are that each resort will have testing prior to it opening up for all.

I know people staying at Kidani who got them.

We are staying at AKV Jambo House Oct 13-19th... I went on the MyDisney Experience site just to look at some info and such and..."BAM"... I was able to make Fast Pass+ selections and such...as well as add ticket info and get Magic Bands and personalize them. I was amazed that it was just available.... I never got the email invite or such from Disney like others did. I was able to add my AKV reservations, my dining reservations... and choose 3 FastPasses per day per park for my wife and I. Then i was able to link my DVC membership as well. I encountered no problems with any updates. I am a big planner so having passes for Splash Mountain/Kali rapids/ Toy Story mania... and many more attractions is fantastic. The fastPass+ even lets you choose many windows of time for the attractions.

Had our ticket added to MDE a long time ago. My friends used Non Expiration Hopper shows an expiration date of Dec. 31, 2030

We are staying at AKV - Jambo House from Oct. 5-7 and then BLT Oct. 7-10. Never got an invitation for the tests but after I did the online check-in I noticed that I could add FP+ reservations. Though when I clicked the link for the MB, it would just show me the general informations about them. Until I clicked them in the app, there I suddenly could choose the colors and also had to confirm a shipping address, even though they don't send them outside the US. Was told they would be waiting for us at AKV at the check-in desk.

I doubt that it's AP holders yet. The system doesn't seem ready to accommodate AP's. I had purchased our AP's on the phone prior to our trip this past week and had a wc number to get them when we arrived. This was a big problem because of some problem with the My Disney Experience app. It took about half an hour to get it straightened out. I didn't mind, and they gave us fastpasses because it took so long. This was the day after we had checked in to our resort. When we returned to the resort that night, our room key cards no longer worked. Our whole reservation had been cancelled and had to be redone. Both of the cast members who helped us with all this told me NOT to link our AP's in MDE because the system can't accommodate them yet. We were at BCV and we talked to several people staying at YC who were wearing the bracelets, and they all seemed pleased with how they are working. I'm hoping that by next August when we visit and use our AP's again all the kinks will be worked out and we can have the bracelets too!

Hmmm.... we have APs and were selected as testers. I had no problems linking them up to our magic bands. Hope it all works when we get there in a couple weeks. Also attached Halloween tickets to the band's as well. Hope that works too.

Same fates here! 12 to the 20 at akv! We r waiting in our bands to ship on the 17th of sept. we aren't big planners so we picked some random stuff here and there when we think we might be in some parks but we r excited. It was easy and glitch free so far. I didn't link my dvc membership yet. I'm scared to! Lol

What I'm waiting for is the night parades and fantasmic for fast pass plus to open up. U got illuminations booked for our first night. I think that's what is cool about fast pass plus. No more curb sitting for an hour!

I'm a ap holder and I was able to link mine months ago. We r testing in October.

U can't use bands to get in to the party from what I read and was told by the Internet department when I had to call to find out a question I needed answered. They said it was for scheduling purposes only. U still need to use the hard ticket.

I just got bands via UPS. I was surprised to see it came with no instructions. I figured it would come with some instruction for check in, how to get my premier pass linked (it was linked till last night on MDE, now it seems it's not and I can't link it) and any other info for usage.

No. I found out I could get them by accident when I was on the app and all of a sudden I had the option of Fastpass+ and Magicbands. I would love know if these are waterproof. Like if I forget to take it off to go swimming or go to the water parks will it get damaged? I got no info at all.

From what Im reading Jambo is getting the test,, My question is that we are only staying there 1 night(the first) then off to SSR. Will we get use of them for the whole trip.. Hope so that would be a great fluke as we couldn't get a room anywhere but Jambo for the first night,,Cross fingers

yes they are waterproof. The letter had lots of info on it, was the reason I asked.

Main thing is just remember to pack them.

Thank. I never got a letter or anything. I hear there is info under the tray the bands are in. I will take a look when I get home tonight from work.

Staying at Pop century 9/24-9/28/13. After reading on Disboards visited MyDisney on Saturday, 8/31/2013. Was offered the link to design my MagicBands for my entire party (linked ressies). Ordered on Saturday and arrived at my workplace today! My sons think I am the coolest Mom in the world.

I never got a letter and cannot get any FPs for my DH on line, even though we have a MB for him. I have called and been told that will happen nearer our trip....which begins Oct. 2. DSis & I are set up.. I called twice, got similar answers.

I called today because the same thing was happening for DH. Within 5 minutes he was all set and I can now make FP+ selections for both of us. Make sure he is listed on the reservation and that he has a park ticket uploaded to MDE. If all of that is in place I would call back.

Is there anything we can do to up our chances of getting picked? Online checkin maybe?

There are 4 of us in the family with 3 having PAP's. (My 13 year old was on a class trip and they required her to have a regular ticket not a PAP which is why she's the only one currently without an active ticket)

We tried to book DVC for a last minute trip but with no availability we ended up at POR paying cash using a pin code. The CM on the phone said that they were testing out the magic bands at POR during our stay.

We are waiting to see if AP rates will be released for Oct and if that will be a better deal than the pin code.
