magicband re-use question

I plan trips that involve my cousin. I have ordered her magicbands in the past. Her account is linked to mine, so she can see what I've planned.

She is planning her own visit and wants to reuse the most recent (lovely 50th anniversary) band. If she uses her account that's linked to mine, she can do that, right? And I wouldn't see her plans unless she invites me. Correct?

They asked me to "release" the band, but I don't think that's a thing. So I appreciate any help so she can do what she wants to do. Thanks in advance!

That magic band should be attached to her MDE profile. Unless you have deactivated it, she should be all set.

She has her own Disney account right? If so you can look up her active Magic bands

I just looked, and her band and name are NOT visible from my account now. I have a feeling they were trying to do something and unlinked it from her end. Ugh.

Assuming ...

• Your cousin has her own MDE account, with attached emails and password
• The MB was linked to that account and not a "child" account under your account
• You were managing plans on her account through "Friends and Family; allowed to manage plans"

Then, yes, the MB should be a digital identifier forever linked to her account regardless of previous trips.

I would also be confused if Disney as me to release a MB, they are linked forever to one MDE account and cannot be transferred. They only thing I can thing of is that an MDE account created as a managed "child" can be connected to an email and become a full account with its own login, that might require a confirmation on both ends.

I worded that poorly. Her husband asked me to release it. I don't know if that's his wording or if HE called disney and got that wording.

It was a proper account. But she always had password issues and doesn't like dealing with disney tech, so...

If she has her own account, she would see it under her account you'd no longer see it under yours. That sounds correct. She should look under "magic bands and cards" on her MDE to see if it's there.

Until recently I was able to see her name and all her cards under my account. All of that is gone. So maybe she properly activated her account?

I let her hubby know that she should be able to see it on her account.
