MagicBand locks

I asked this in another part of the DISboards and nobody replied. Hopefully the DCL fans will know!

Do the kids clubs on Disney Magic still use locks for the MagicBands? I heard they were using two different colours, one to indicate if a child has a medical or behaviour note on file. Awesome. The locks can be clipped off with scissors or nail clippers when the trip is done. Perfect.

Now, I'm wondering if these locks can be acquired or purchased for use at WDW? We're going on a cruise on the Dream in 2014, followed by a trip to WDW, and I don't want to lose my MagicBand whilst there. I'm prone to losing things and would love a lock to secure the MagicBand in place for the trip. My husband fidgits and could use a lock too, as he is worried he may lose his on the bus and not be able to get into the park or hotel room.

If they aren't available at WDW (and it seems they aren't, judging by the lack of response on the other DISboard thread), will they be available on the Dream in 2014? If not, could someone pick up a few from the Magic and mail them to me? (I'd pay for it, of course.)

I used far more words than I probably needed, but I just want a few locks for the MagicBands on or before our trip, if possible. Thanks in advance.

If you aren't going to WDW unti after your cruise, why not wait until then to pick them up if they are going to make them available?

We're going straight from the ship to WDW via Magic Express and, from what I know, currently the Dream doesn't use the MagicBands in the kids clubs. If they aren't available in the parks or on the Dream by (early) 2014 we'd like them before our trip so we can pack them to bring with us. :)

You can get sliders in a variety of themes at WDW. If you put them where the band overlaps with itself, it's quite nice at keeping it closed. YOu could also get a coverband (or make one: http://www.passporterboards.com/blogs/index.php/tag/magicband/) which also does a nice job at keeping it closed.

But ultimately you don't have to WEAR the magicband at all. If DH is fidgety and this might make him more so, there's no need to have it on your body.
