Can someone make sure I'm understanding correctly:

We have two separate packages booked both for onsite resorts so we have two sets of Magicbands. We can just use one set the entire time, correct? The second package tickets and meal credits just won't be available to use until that date?

You are correct. The first set will work on either reservation and the second set will work as well. So my suggestion is get different colors when you customize so you can match outfits or mood that day. Just make sure you tap every band to the door on your way out to make sure they work.

Yep, Magic bands don't store resort/ticket info, they are just a "key" to whatever is active on your MDE account.

So order different band colors and use whatever color you feel like that day.

Now... With dining credits. Your 1st stay dining credits are available until you are checked out of the 1st room and 2nd stay dining credits take over when you check into your 2nd room.
Ideal you will use up all 1st stay credits by check out morning, and then you can cleanly activate your 2nd set at check-in

So the first plans credits aren't good until midnight the day we check out? That's not going to be good as we had planned to use up those credits on our moving day but have already done online check in for the second package.

The credits are technically valid until midnight of checkout day, but you need to be prepared that the system may fight you, and may require your resort's front desk to reimburse you if the system does not allow you to access those credits.

My DD and her family had an issue with the dining on a split stay, but as the previous poster said, you just need to speak to someone at the resort if you have a problem and they'll take care of it even if it's after the fact.

So glad to see this thread as we just booked a split stay as well. We were planning to do a deluxe plan on the first part and a regular DDP the second. We had also planned to use them up on moving day. Thoughts on if having 2 different levels of the plan will be helpful or more confusing?

Others have discussed other parts. I'm just concerned that you're spending a lot on two separate tickets on this trip. You might consider saving the second set of tickets for the future and upgrading the first step to what you need for this trip.
