MagicBand+ at Walt Disney World *NOW AVAILABLE!!!*

Not sure about AP specifically but they did give the DVC 20% discount and told me discounts were applicable when I asked. Unfortunately the MB+ currently does not connect properly to android devices, only Apple.

Basically the MB+ capabilities do not work with android devices. It currently will only work like the old MBs. The Special Light up functions and anything that link it to the phone do not work because it will not connect to the phone. So you can't customize the colors, check on the battery, play any of the games and such. You go through a process where it is supposed to connect to the phone but it always fails and says to try to reconnect.

Oh wow that sucks! My husband won’t be happy. Are they working to fix this?

Thanks for posting this before I bought one for my trip in December. I hope this gets fixed in the future. Not everyone has or wants an Apple phone.
 

Hmmm, so the only 'new' interactive feature I think I'd be interested in would be the little interactions going on in the Parks as you're walking around & the smartwatch link. I have no interest in playing the games and very little interest in 'interacting' with night-time shows (I'd rather just watch the 'real deal'). I just perused the 'set up, link to the app, link to your smartwatch' instructions and TBH I found them a bit, well, intimidating.

So, I'm having 2nd thoughts as to whether or not MB+ is really worth it. I can't figure out the smartwatch thing. I get the MB+ will create a link with your watch and MDE, but what does that allow your watch to actually do? If it does 'everything' what's the point of the MB+? If it does nothing the MB+ doesn't already do, what's the point of linking?

We need an 'MB+ for Dummies' book, lol. I'm just glad I'm not going til Fall 2023. Hopefully by then I'll figure it all out. And that Disney will have gotten all the bugs out.
 
I got mine first thing Wednesday morning, picked the park food one however it is for one of my stays in December and should've chosen red to wear with my ears for MVMCP, lol. I will just have to buy a red one in September when I'm there and probably a castle one since I love how it looks during the fireworks. :)

I’m sure they are. DVC had the same problem implementing its digital membership cards in January. My understanding of the trouble is that there are multiple Android operating systems, so the app programmers have to write software for each one, and it’s a slow process. There’s only one Apple OS.
 
Is there a way to link the fab 50 play game to a child's magic band plus that is under your account or can it only be linked to an adult that has their own account? I setup the magic band for my daughter but I am managing her account under mine and it isn't finding it when I try to link it to the fab 50 game even though I can see it under her account.
 
Just wanted to post an update that they have made an update to fix the Android problem as of this morning. I just got back from Guest Relations in MK and they were able to walk me through resetting everything to get the MB+ to finally connect to my android phone. I'll try to test out a few of the statues tomorrow but it's my last day so not going to be able to try too much.

I really hope the Android issues are resolved stat. That is not something that I was aware of before purchasing them for my party. One of us has an Android and it's gonna really stink if they aren't able to connect properly.

I read elsewhere - probably on DISboards, maybe not - that the Android issue has been resolved. I can't remember details except that some action had to be taken - might have involved reinstalling the app, might not.

Hope so. Mine has already shipped and I have no intention of getting an iphone. I saw nowhere on shopdisney or dw site that these only worked with apple devices. Nor any vlogger review.

What concerns me is the pending charge has dropped off my card completely... it is no longer pending and was not charged, yet my order in MDE still showing that it is in process.

yeah... I have no pending charge either. And the website does still say, 'in progress.'
