Magicband and annual pass questions

We went to WDW in Oct 2013, and we were able to order magicbands before the trip. Once there, we bought our AP, and we able to connect them to the magicbands to get in the parks, it was great.

we are going back in sept 2014, and were just able to pick new colors for our magicbands. Do we have to do something to get the annual passes on the new magicbands when they arrive or do we do it now, or how does that work?

I can go on my disney exp, and under the magicbands, i see my old one for me, but not my wife, but when ordering, i have both mine and hers. i can see my annual pass and other admission cards so i have to figure out which one is which by looking at the card, but how do i link it to the new ones, do i do it now or after i get the new ones or how does that part work??

1- Nope. There is nothing "on" the MB. (See below.)

2- Don't need to do anything.

3- Both the former set of MB's will work and the NEW set of MB will work.
You can take either or both sets and use whichever you like on your upcoming trip.

----Just to keep things as clear as possible-

There is no reservation info, or ticket info, or credit card info,
or FP+ info "put onto" a MagicBand.

The MagicBands just contain a unique serial number that is used
to access the information that is stored in your MyDisneyExperience computer file.

So, even if you were to lose a MagicBand, the info stays locked in your file.
Disney can just set up a new band (different serial number)
to access the info in your MDE file.

The MagicBand works like the combination to a locked safe, or a key to a locked door.

Why does this distinction matter?
Because there is so much fear about losing bands and,
in turn, losing all of a guest's information thought to be on the band.

The MB, itself, is not the file of info or the container of the info.
The MB just unlocks the file of info to be read, when needed.

Robo is right (OK no real surprise there....)

From personal experience - we just got back from our 2nd trip with MB. We took both sets along just in case one got lost. When we checked in at the resort - the CM checked the set of MB we had (2nd set) to make sure the numbers matched the set they were expecting us to bring - they did and we were ready to go. The room number apparently had already been loaded on there as she didn't have to do anything other than check.

Since both sets (and our plastic AP ) are active I'm confident they both would have worked in terms of the theme park. Only the "new set" the ones we gave the CM would have worked on the room IMO (but never tested that theory)
