magicalley making cindies ressies

Anyone else notice that there was a reply to this thread from a "MagicAlley" member here for a few minutes that is now gone? She offered her e-mail address for questions. hmmmm....

Why would my post be pulled if I was trying to set the record straight? I'm certainly not trying to solicit business for Magic Alley?

All I was doing was clarifying the misconception that was continuing in this thread to say that Magic Alley does not require a membership subscription if a person wants assistance with CRT ressies.

Please explain.

I believe you can also do searches here with "the Breakfast Club" or "readers club house".

It was very heated for awhile at almost all Disney websites and newsgroups. The Dis was locking or deleting posts that referred to this group of 'angels'.

Many think what they are doing is very wrong and complained to Disney and that is when Disney implemented the new procedure to attaining CRT PS's. Also, the Orlando Sentinel newspaper had a couple of acticles describing what they were doing and how Disney wasn't happy with them either.

This website in question has threaten many against them with FBI legal action including websites and the Orlando Sentinel but as far as I know nothing ever came of it except now they are 'private' and charge you to become a member...

That's about all I have to say on the matter.

Has anyone used Magicalley to help them get Cinderellas castle breakfast reservations? I just saw it on their website. Do they charge if they get it? You do not have to leave your credit card info. They make the ressie in your name and then you have a certian amount of time to call back with your deposit info? Just curios if this worked for anyone.

I just found out it is $39.00 to join there club. Then they will do the calling for you. It might be worth the money if they have a good track record of getting ressies.

Thanks

Stay away from those people. The head nutcase, Rita, thinks everyone is out to get them and is always on some tirade. Save your money and call yourself. Don't give this group anything that may just prolong what they are doing.

I used to check out Rita Aero's now-defunct site, Disneynation.com, just to read the posts and see how their information differed from Disboards. It was kind of funny to read posts from all these people begging "King Howie" to please add them to his list of people "worthy" enough to be given CRT slots once he and his gang got the ressies. Talk about fanatical!

Ok guys, up till now this thread has been ok, but lets not let it slip into insults, whether the people concerned are looking in or not. Your opinions are welcome, but lets be adults about doing it, ok?

Margaret64, if you have any questions about what happened to your post, please direct them privately to the Webmasters on admin@wdwinfo.com and so as not take this thread off topic - in the meantime you might also like to refer to our Posting Guidelines in particular, No.5 "No advertising"

:earseek:

<---Did not know about this malarky! Drat and I like the maps in her book too.....sigh.........guess I scratch that off the Borders list......

I would have friends/relatives help me make calls if you are going at a busy time of year.

Now I know why I like going in the off season! :D

No way in heck would I pay $40.00 to a website for anything like that.

Thankfully, I have a DD who isn't interested in CRT and actually gave up a PS there when DU made a PS for a one trip. I think the agent thought I was nuts but, no interest!

I checked this website out and thought some of the thoughts on the homepage about the DIS were uncalled for and if I were Pete, I'd be mad as heck and getting it straightened out. Pete runs a fine website here and those comments were spiteful.

"The Magic Key Club is the ONLY family safe and criminal-free Disney vacation planning site on the Internet."

... "Finally, they will proceed to the Membership Desk to purchase their MAGIC KEY. In this way, the identity of all potential Members is verified, while persons of evil-intent are naturally disarmed and repelled."

"Unfortunately the internet is rife with emotionally disturbed individuals who take peverse pleasure in terrorizing the good-hearted members of civilized communities."

"They can also use your personal information to terrorize your family at home or on vacation."

I was curious so I checked out the website. I could not believe what I was reading.
I'm not being insulting but this extreme paranoia seems really crazy to me.
People use your information to terrorize your family at home and on vacation???
To me, THAT statement is TERRORIZING.

Like someone else said, I'd use the info on this site to get a CRT ressie, and avoid the site in question altogether. They've already begun to trash The Dis with 'testimonials' on their membership page.

If you went there you would see what is written. Since this info seems to be conveniently missing, here is the quote:

"This complimentary service is brought to you by the Breakfast Club Angels, who have been making magic for families since 1999."

Complimentary=free

The link is right on the home page.

Complimentary or not, there are too many weird things on that website for my comfort. Read their privacy and legal statements before you give a bunch of unknown people information about your family, home address, telephone number and vacation plans.

And make a note that none of that information is sent by secure means. Check the lower right corner of your screen. You will see no "padlock" indicating that the information is being encrypted. Any junior high kid with an interest in the internet could intercept that info.

Nope. Not a good idea. Get a bunch of friends and family whom you know and trust to make those calls for you.

The site in question is currently running a window full of 'testimonials' from alleged members in an attempt to inspire subscription to their site. One of them reads like this-

Thank you for Magic Alley! I just read about this website on the DIS where they are lying and saying Cinderella breakfast reservations being sold here. Anyone can see that is a free service. If the DIS lets people post lies about other Disney websites, god only knows what kind of misinformation they shove down their visitor's throats. I had no idea until now how bad it is out there.

Here's another-

...I never heard of this site until I read about it on Pete Werner's site today. I was all excited to get a CRT reservation because I know how hard it is. I was pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful community with caring members who bend over backward to help out ANYONE in need. I don't know why the people on DIS would tell such awful lies about this website, but I am very grateful because otherwise I wouldn't know you exist. Thank You Thank You Thank You!!!!! I found a wonderful new home and I am ecstatic!

Member for: one month or less. Location: Florida

I recognize that the 'CRT Ressie Machine' that they operate is indeed a 'complimentaty service'. But it requires divulging personal information to people of whom I would be leery, given the obvious mean-spirited nature of the above 'testimonials'.

I looked at the site but there isn't any worry right now about joining as all the Charter Memberships are sold out...they aren't accepting any new memberships....

It seemed a bit spooky to me..

D**n, I just booked a trip to the "home" planet thru these folks... (sorry, just kidding, couldn't resist).

I used to check in on the readersclubhouse site, then one day it was all weird...references to libel and "cyber terror"...and CRT reservations sounding like a religious experience or something. You would think they were making "blind men see" by getting them a table for 4! So I deleted my cookies, and never went back.

I do like the maps in the Rita book, though.

As my Canadian grandmother would say : Chaque un a son gout (each one to his taste)..sorry if I misspelled it!

Okay, according to the main page they've got there, the OP is mistaken and you don't have to pay $40 to ask for a Cinderella's PS. And it looks like they're using the check deposit option when they call. They even say that once they get the reservation, you can call back and use your credit card to guarantee. And you have to fill out a form with a bunch of personal information.

I agree, there's something vaguely creepy about all this. Do people really want that breakfast this badly?

Ok - so you don't have to pay the $40 to "beg" for reservations but who knows who they give the reservations they do get to and in what order?? My guess is the paying members get the first reservations and others may get the leftovers. I would NEVER give out my personal information never mind for a reservation to eat at a restaurant. I have two girls who are age appropriate for this breakfast but if we get one by calling we go = if not we don't, that's life.

I won't disregard common sense for a kids whim.

What if they end up selling my information for $$ - no way.

I still say this site, esp the thread with advise and encouragement has enough information for most of us to get the breakfast if we want. If not - there is the other princess breakfast and a cinderella dinner as well as toon town fair!

Way down at the bottom of this website in very small print it says:

QUOTE]It is also the only community that pro-actively protects its Members from cyber-criminals and other undesirables.) Although membership is strictly limited, Priority-Seating reservations have been arranged for all former Members. Act quickly. [/QUOTE]

That's rather interesting. I wonder what it means? Is it just a joking reference to the fact that former members will be able to get a membership? Or does it actually have to do with restaurant priority seatings?

Then down at the VERY bottom it says:

We are proud to be working with law enforcement officials to send known Internet criminals to jail.

Yikes. I think I'm done with this site now.

Thanks for the info, Carla, and glad that you apparently don't agree with the Magic Alley statement that it's unsafe to frequent other boards - obviously, you wouldn't be here if that were the case.

Is it still in the TOS of the site that if you even visit the webpage you are granting permission for your hard drive to be accessed by the webmasters of Magic Alley for a period of six months? I haven't seen any other websites with that kind of rule and found it ... interesting.

Anyway, Carla, best of luck to you in your new endeavor. Glad to see that you have time to visit other boards and still take care of your hosting duties at Magic Alley.
