Magical Update!**BBB at DTD vs Magic Kingdom

hello all - we are planning my daughter's first BBB trip in November. So far, I've only been able to find a booking at the DTD location. I wanted one at MK - you know, the castle and all that... But I'm happy for the experience regardless. Are there big differences between the two locations? I'm looking for some experiences/opinions from either location.

I think the biggest benefit of doing it at Magic Kingdom is that your at magic Kingdom and can go on rides, do meet and greets at fairytale hall etc - I would keep calling daily as people do cancel - I got a BBB appointment two days before we left last year

Thanks for the reply. I'd love for her to be able to go on the rides and do the meet & greets. I'll continue to try to call. I'm hopeful that something will open up...

Well she can still do them you just have to travel from DTD to MK - it's just a matter of the convenience to already being in the park.

Right-good point. Our current reservation is at 7:00 pm on our arrival night. Hoping for something better! Fingers crossed.

Two years ago I was in the same situation because we booked a last minute trip. I called everyday and finally after about 2 weeks I got the reservation I wanted!!! Just keep trying. My persistence paid off. Good Luck!

I'll keep trying! I called again today, and the lovely CM was very encouraging. She even checked on some dining reservations for me and told me that things will really start to free up in the month before our trip.
I really think that MK would be most magical, but I'll take DTD if needed. Either way, my daughter will be thrilled.

We did BBB at the MK and it was wonderful. I also make sure that our reservation to be before MK opened. My daughter got princess-fied and then we had a little time before rope drop. It was really nice.

We did BBB for my little sister last minute at DTD. She loved it and I'm sure the experience was just as magical as MK. We also hopped right over to the Photo Studio at DTD and got a bunch of really nice photos of her with her makeover. Our experience was perfect from start to finish! Like others said, definitely keep trying for MK, but if it doesn't work out- DTD suited us just fine!

I'm in the same situation. My DD is booked at the DTD location. I was also really hoping for MK for the convenience as well. I guess I'll keep trying to move it. If not, DTD will be better than no appointment at all!

Really the best location is the castle. It just feels more magical. My dd is going on Friday at the castle. I called 2 months early and I still had to get a late in the day appointment.

Keep checking daily but especially the 45 day out mark. You might get lucky. CM I spoke with said people sometimes get 2 reservations for the same day and don't cancel 1 out until the last minute.

I agree...I was booking for 3 DGDs and had to make 2 reservations for different times, called DD & DIL and got an agreed time and immediately called BBB to cancel one of them within 10 minutes of having made them. CM I spoke with thanked me effusively for calling back so quickly to cancel because many people are not considerate of others trying to get BBB appts.

Keep trying! As people firm up plans things will open. I just cancelled my extra one in Sept (4th) today since my sister *finally* firmed up her plans for her trip and we decided to do BBB on the last night instead. I bet lots of people have backup reservations they will need to get rid of as things come together. I chose MK since it is my niece's first visit, I wanted it to be super extra magical.

As others have said, especially look around the 45 day mark. Keep calling daily!

As many of you have said, the CM told me to try after the 45 day mark. She said it's not uncommon for some guests to make reservations for each day of their trip, then cancel all but one later on, similar to dining reservations.

Updated! I called tonight, even though the CM told me to really not even bother until October for our November trip...
The CM found me an opening at MK on our arrival day - at 8:10 a.m.! How awesome is that?! Now she'll be all set for our princess lunch at Akershus later in the day. I'm so psyched - totally believing in the magic!
