Magical Southern Caribbean ~ 9/20/14

What's his reasoning for wanting to spend as little time in SJ as possible? I loved SJ!

Oh it's a litany I don't want to get into lol. I do think though, if we do decide to arrive that morning, given that the ship doesn't leave until 9:30 we would still have time to see a little and for him, that is enough and I'm ok with it.

Just wanted to pop on and say hello. I am from Pennsylvania, traveling solo, although there are quite a few friends I will be sailing with. Looking forward to these ports and to meeting new friends.

Is there a Facebook group for this cruise?

I am not sure how much the FB Admin is here on DIS but.......I will try to help.

unfortunately due to some trolling on other Disney related groups, the group added some security measures.....anyone who wants to join feel free to msg me with your email address to me via private message here on the DIS (if you are under 10 posts it won't work....sing to us if you need to....there used to be a thread for doing such but not sure where it is anymore) I will invite you to FB page but Admin will have to approve so it won't be instantaneous :thumbsup2s Hope that helps. The added security was in no way meant to keep cruise members out but to protect those that are there. :goodvibes

Booked our flights this morning on Southwest! So exciting to have this detail set. :thumbsup2
Southwest discontinued flights from 2 of our local So Cal airports and left only 1 flight from LAX. Boy was I worried this morning when the new dates opened. We are set - bring on the port adventures! :cool1:

Hi everyone,

I was given a spreadsheet with a way to organize a fish extender group so if no one else wants the job, I'm willing to organize it for our sailing. But if someone else really, really wants the job, that's ok too ;)

More details to come but just wanted to update.

Thanks!

I am interested in joining the Fish Extender List (FE List)

Yes, I think we were both on the NYC cruise in 2011 to Nova Scotia.

2012 the Disney Magic sailed from NYC to Nova Scotia... I was on the June 10th sailing followed by the first 2 night NYC Weekend Getaway Cruise on June 15th

That was a fun week. Sailing in and out of New York is quite amazing!

Whew!!!! I just got done going through the entire thread and trying to find everyone who wants to participate in the fish Extender group.

I probably missed some people but I PM'd everyone I saw who posted a firm YES.

I didn't PM people who were on the fence, who said not sure, who said maybe, etc. . .

If you didn't get a PM from me, please send me a PM stating your interest in participating with the details:

1) Names (if comfortable sharing)
2) Adults/kids and genders/ages of kids
3) Cabin #
4) Early/late dining

I'll keep the master list but as far as the fine details, your input is needed. I have almost 20 cabins so far. I was thinking we should limit the # in each group to be 10-20 cabins. What do you think?

When should the cut off date be? We are 6 months out (just under 200 days).

I was also thinking since we ALL are flying at some stage in this trip, we should just do 1 stateroom gift. People will be welcome to gift more if they choose (I've seen some people gift to the kids in a cabin in addition to the stateroom gift) but 1 gift per cabin would help with luggage room and logistics. What do you think about that?

Any other suggestions?

I'll head over to FB and gather names/post this info also. I will make sure to hit both areas with the FE info so no one misses out.

Thanks!

We are also interested in joining the FE group for this cruise.

Welcome Jeff and Val to the Magical Southern Caribbean Cruise. Looking forward to cruising with you both. It will be our 10th cruise too so next year is Platinum year :cheer2:

You said you are looking forward to being back on the Dream - hope you realise you won't be on that ship!!!

Have a good Sunday.

You said you are looking forward to being back on the Dream - hope you realise you won't be on that ship!!!

Ooops, got my sailings confused. We're on the Dream in May, so this southern will be our 11th DCL cruise!

Hello all! My name is Chris and my family and I will be taking our 2nd DCL trip on this cruise. Looking forward to another magical time on board. Although we might sail on another cruise-line in the future, just because of cost, I will be criticizing every other cruise line and comparing them to DCL. We went on a 7 day cruise onboard the Fantasy last year and OMG this blew my mind on how wonderful it was. My kids, 5 and 3, had the time of their lives. And my wife and I couldn't get over the service and attention to detail. The entire crew were super friendly and the character meets we're second to none. We would be walking down the hallways and one would come out heading to a meet but would stop and take time to hug and interact with our kids. I mean one on one!!! You can't this kind of interaction at the parks! That was truly spectacular for us. And the food, oh my!!!! I can't get over the food quality. Our dinner server, Jayson, what an outstanding guy! Our first dinner I couldn't make up my mind on what I wanted, he said let me surprise you, and wow did he. He brought me every entree they had that night. I ate till I couldn't move! And I love the fact that he was our server each night. He truly became a friend of the family. I wanted to bring him home with us. LoL. Anyway we are looking forward to our next cruise this September and meeting all of the new set of friends on board. Chris and Shawn 2 kids Ryan and Jackson From Bartlett, Tn what is the FE?

Hi everyone. We live in here in Puerto Rico currently and can't wait to take my family on our first cruise. Just starting to learn about the fish extenders but we are definitely in. We are a family of 6. 3 boys (12,10,10) and a girl (11). We go to Disney every 2 years but since the boat is actually coming here I can't pass it up. Any tips or hints would be appreciated.
