We do like Vero..... and we were sooooooooo happy to get our rooms so early today. We keep meeting very nice families and end up spending hours floating around in the pool chatting/laughing. There are a lot of teens/college age kids here too. So that helps with our older teens. I really like the Inn Rooms...would love to have the OV though. We are happier in these two rooms vs. the 1 bedroom. My husband and ds 16 LOVE the ocean. We bought a big pink tube today...and we had already gotten a smaller one before we got here. So they spend a lot of time out floating in those. Brittany and I will spend more time tomorrow since we have the umbrella and chairs that THE DIS BOARD MEMBER LEFT FOR US.We didn't get down to the beach until 2:00 today so I didn't want to rent chairs for that short of time. Tomorrow we will get out there around 10 or 11. My dd will probably like the beach better too. She keeps saying "I am a city girl" "I am a city girl" LOL
My 16 year old son just changed for the gym and said "Uh the whole ocean floor just jumped out of my swimsuit"![]()

A SHELL FELL OUT TOO.
Vero is quiet and just perfect after a long stay at WDW.Everyone is so friendly and people
Our younger son keeps asking us "Where are the cant see ums"I was telling them about the no-see-ums and he has seen them yet.
SO yes we are having an enjoyable time. Not sure if we would spend an entire week here, but I can definitely see us staying here again for 4 or 5 days and would probably do it the next time we did a trip to WDW in the warmer months. Now that we have experienced Vero some....it just seems to go hand in hand with a trip to Disney.

Yeah! So glad you are having a great time. Tell your boy that the can't see ums will be out soon. Right about now actually, was when we got attacked at the campfire last week. Yikes!
Have another fun day at Vero tomorrow! Tiger![]()
Try to go to the beach at night to see the sea turtles lay eggs. Look for tractor tire looking marks going from the ocean to the soft sand. Ask at the front desk for rules.(no white light or cell phones lights, stay by the back of the turtle are a few that I can think of) If you go to the pier at night you may get lucky and a marine biologist may let you tag along. They have red lights that don't disturb the turtles. Look for those lights on the beach too. There also is a Turtle brigade(??). Someone from the resort will take you around in the morning and uncover some nests to see if any babies are hatching. It is really a neat experience!
Right now the groups they are taking out are by lottery. Where is this pier??
The pier is where you enter the beach from the resort. (the green cabin...where they rent boogie boards and chairs) The lady in the desk was trained to be a turtle ranger (not sure if that is what they are called??) and said to wait there and they often ask people to come along. My daughter went down there and they invited her to go with them. The next night we went out on our own and looked for ourselves. We saw what looked like "tire tracks" and followed them up and the turtle was already up there digging. They said not to scare or approach the head but they can't see behind them so you can watch from there. The big thing is no white light, flash, cell phone etc. If you look for the red light when down there, that is where the rangers are so you may be able to join them there. Have fun! It is a great place!![]()
Oh okay..gotcha. I was thinking LONGGGGGGGGGGGGG fishing pier and I knew we had not seen that.
That's HHI![]()
That is next on our TO DO LIST. So do you recommend a certain time of year??? We are closer to HHI and I think HHI makes a nice split either on the way to Disney or the way home. So that might be our next summer trip.
Early June. Still possible to get a ressie and still heading into the warm season.
Good Time to go.
