Magical Oct 4, 2014 Southern Caribbean

I threw up 12 of the 16 hours from Australia. However, the overnight flight to Fiji, I took Nyquil and slept the entire time. It helped that I spent the entire day in Disneyland before I boarded the plane. I also threw up on the plane home from London. Maybe I just don't like coming home. :rotfl:

OMG that's aweful. Sleeping the entire time would be perfect, but I usually wake up two or three times an hour....no matter how tired I am.

Yeah, I definitely prefer sleeping over staying up. It's only been on flights home. :confused3 I'll have to see if that holds true this summer.

What is it about flying long distances that bothers you? That would be a really hard thing for me not to be able to fly. I love traveling.

Good Luck this summer!

I feel like I'm confined to a small space and can barely move. My husband John is worse. He gets all white knuckled and throws up. He got drugs from the doctor for whenever we fly. He's also a smoker so he doesn't like to go too long without a cigarette. I quit 5 years ago, but he has not been able to kick it yet. He's trying.

Ooof poor John! My Mom does the white knuckle thing too, but luckily none of us have gastrointestinal distress from it! :headache: I'd always wished I could go with my grandma to DL but she simply could NOT fly for fear (always had nice stewardesses plow her with them when she absolutely HAD to which has not been in my lifetime) and now is too old. :sad2: I was fine growing up, then got scared, then was fine with it again through college and now I don't like it. You can give me all the stats you like but I WILL fret, and worry and ask my husband what the noises are while quietly freaking out in bad turbulence and be VERY glad when I land. Regardless, I fly as often as I can since it means awesome places and its not stopping me from flying alone in June! :thumbsup2

I tried half a xanax that my coworker gave me last time I flew and I do think it helped a tiny bit even if it ended up having a placebo effect!

I don't know Monica, but man if you get this nice of a reception, I hope you come so I can meet you and see what the fuss is about! I am sure it is well deserved! :wave2:

How far is Myrtle Beach from here?? I wouldn't miss a commute like that either!! I always thought ATL was so expensive, but I am from Washington DC, so the flights there tend to be less expensive than ATL. I did snag $650 roundtrip to Paris from ATL. So I guess we can get a few deals.

This summer I am flying to Singapore directly from Chicago. 23 hours with no layovers.:crazy2: I thought the 16 hour flight to Australia was bad. My kids have never done a flight longer than 8 hours, so this will be interesting. I told them after that, a flight to Fiji will seem simple.

It was a long 7 1/2 hour drive ! Sometimes we just stayed there for the weekend because I just didn't want to be in the car. Added to it was our Maltese was with us every step of the way. Wish I knew what he was thinking. :rotfl2:

My mom lives in Kennesaw. Off of George Busbee Pkwy. It must have been awful driving in that Atlanta traffic to get back to Myrtle Beach?!:crazy2:

Oh yes that traffic coming and going ! :scared1:The one and only thing I miss is the big shanty. The best barbecue we have ever had !

Well then it's a good thing you got to go when you did. It's funny, I don't even remember it being rough. I guess I got used to it. I just remember checking the depth of the ocean on the navigator channel....something like 80,000 feet. It was deep water!

I was aware of it but I guess I didn't let it bother me. :confused3 More like I got used to it. It was a opportunity of a lifetime for me and I am so glad I wen't. :goodvibes

YA SEE.....I want to be YOU!!!! Paris and Singapore added to the list of others. You're a world class traveler. I love that, but I would have to do all of my travelling by sea, DCL specifically. I could not tolerate a long flight, both John and me have a hard time with it.

It sounds like you do too Tina. Anyone else who can't tolerate long airline flights?

I have to get up and walk around alot. It's always so awkward. I just can't sit for long periods because of my legs. There is a concern of clots for me.

:tiptoe::tiptoe::tiptoe: lurking...scheeming...hoping :rolleyes1 ;)

Hi Monica, I hope you can join us ! :yay:

This is me as well. I'm miserable when I start getting sick. I also know that I can't let it stop me from going to some amazing places. This summer, I get on a plane every 5 days or so through 8 countries. It will be crazy, but the goal is to not eat the days I am flying. I am hoping that will help.

Where are you flying to in June?

WDW! :goodvibes My husband has one week less of vaca than I do this year and everywhere else I could come up with he was uncomfortable with me going alone! Its a looong flight - hopefully I can get some sleep since I chose a red eye!

AHH..the Star Wars weekend trip!! That is going to be awesome!! :thumbsup2

Its certainly not Disney Sea (my favourite park), but I will take it! :lmao:

This will be my first time. I'm so glad to know you liked it:thumbsup2 To date, my favorite ride is Crush's Coaster. I know it breaks down often, but when it works, its amazing. Hopefully I will like Disney Sea as much as you do

I do hope more solo parents join the cruise. Samantha and I were sat with a table of solo parents, but I'm not sure if there will be on a cruise starting from another country.

There were a lot of solo moms on the 2014 EBTA

I would think there would be just as much a chance on one starting from a foreign country as not! It certainly has not dampened your sense of adventure, so I am sure there are others too! pirate:

Just thought I would say Hi, My wife and I are booked on this cruise and it looks like its going to be a fun cruise. We plan on spending a couple days in San Juan before the cruise to explore the city as well

I just wish it was this October instead of next year!

Thanks for the reassurance. :goodvibes I don't have many friends that love Disney like we do, so I don't have anyone to invite to go with us.

Welcome aboard!!! We want to stay in San Juan for a couple of days before the cruise too. Have you looked into any hotels yet?

This is going to be a great cruise with a bunch of awesome people. It will be busy and fun!

Good Morning Mates......I like the way that sounds.

Well we're finally finished packing out our house. YAY! The movers are coming tomorrow to look at everything and give us an estimate. Then they will schedule a date with us to move us around mid month. I can't believe we only have two more weeks and we'll be living near the mouse.

We got a big house even though it's just me and John because we know we will have lots of guests staying with us all the time. I'm so excited. I can't wait to start this new journey in our lives.
