Magical New Year's Cruise from Galveston 12/29/2012

Joining in...we just decided to do this cruise instead of our annual trip to WDW. This will be our second DCL but we are not new to cruising.

We will driving down from Fort Worth. It is just me and DH. We met so many wondferful people on our last DCL (the first New England cruise out of NYC in June). We are excited to meet more on this cruise.

OK, I have an excel spreadsheet ready to go of the FE gift exchange group so far. Does anyone know the best way to get it out to everyone involved? Should I ask for emails and send it that way, or is there a way to pm each cabin that is participating? BTW - We still have time to sign up a few more cabins! Thank you!

We'd like to join the FE gift exchange group. We are in cabin 7594 and are Dawn and Glen (50/51), Karie (19) and Ryan (15). We are cruise newbies so appreciate any website tips for FE gift ideas. :)

OK, 6 cabins are now participating in the FE gift exchange. If you are in cabins 2017, 2135, 2137, 2500, or 7549, would you be so kind as to message me your email and I will foward you the excel spreadsheet I have created. Gift exchange items can be limited to one per cruise, or one per day; one per person or one per stateroom; and can be any age appropriate items you have purchased or crafted. Some ideas might include: magnets, handmade coasters, costume jewelry, pirate items, Disney items, small toys, soap, keychains, etc. Ideas can be found on facebook and Pinterest. I have seen some very creative ideas out there! Good luck! See you onboard!:yay:

ok, this is our 4th Disney Cruise and I have never done the FE, so I might as well do it this time! Cabin #2633 Me, Julie (43), husband Rob (41), daughter Amanda (17) and son Ryan (15)
Sign us up!!!

I PMed you, but it never showed up in my sent box. Did you get it or should I send again?

It's getting close to the FE gift exchange cut-off date of October 15th. Has everyone gotten in that wants to? If not, send me a message that you want to participate and I'll get you a copy of the FE spreadsheet with all the information. Thanks! See you all onboard! (PS - We should think about a meet and greet on one of the sea days) :)

I am looking to see if anyone wants to join my family for main dining.

We are a family of three (adults early 40's and our daughter will be almost 16 at the time of the cruise).

My daughter loves to hang out with other teens and having someone her age to talk with at dinner would be awesome.

Let me know and I will set it up.

I am also looking for a family to share dinner with. I was working on what looked to be a great fit and then the family got a great military discount offered on the christmas cruise right before ours and made the switch!

I was hoping for a teen girl and boy as I have a dd17 and a ds15.
My daughter enjoys photography, designing her own clothes, etc.
My son plays clarinet, video games, chess, etc.

So if anyone out there wants to find out if it would be a good fit, just message me!

Hello Everyone!

Just booked our cruise! My family and I will be joining you all on the cruise.

We are a family of 4. Myself, DH, DS(13) and DD(9).

This will be our 3rd Disney Cruise and we are so excited to be back on the Magic!

So I feel good that I have finally made some arrangements!

Booked the flight on southwest, decided to take a taxi to Galveston and booked 2 nights at the Holiday Inn before the cruise.

We also signed up for some excursions.

In Grand Cayman, my ds15 and I are going to snuba
And in Cozumel, my ds15 and I are doing the clear kayak/snorkeling and my dd17 and my dh have signed up for salsa & salsa

Booked a Palo brunch for 12/31 at 11:30 and Palo dinner on 1/3 at 7pm.

Still need to book a massage, but we usually just do that during the cruise.

And the last thing to do would be to figure out what I am doing for the FE's!

How are everyone else's plans going???

Hello all!!

I just found this forum!
We are from the Houston area and we are booked on the Magic NYE cruise out of Galveston! Only 79 days to go!! YAY!!!

I would like to find out more about the FE exchange that you are talking about! Looks like I just made the deadline to be included!!

I am Niki (36) and cruising with my daughter Kendall (7). We are in stateroom 6515 and are scheduled for the Main Seating for dinner.

My daughter does no know about the cruise yet! We booked back in January 2012 so I didn't want her to have to wait almost a whole year wanting it to come. I will surprise her on Christmas Eve!!

Hope to hear more about the FE exchange :)

Hi all,

We will also be on this cruise. It will be our first Disney cruise, and my kids first cruise ever. It will be me, DH, and our two boys (5 and 9). My mother will also be coming with us. We live in Houston (my mom lives in New York). We are on deck 6, aft. We are also Main seating, though the posts on this board made me consider changing to late (I will keep Main). We may try Palo, but I am not sure yet so will probably try to book when we get on board if we decide to do it.

We booked in April of 2011, but only told the kids a few weeks ago. They are so excited (but maybe not as excited as I am!)

I have no idea what our excursions will be, trying to figure all that out. I do have a good packing list going, based on all of the great tips from this board, and have started working on my door magnets (which I heard about on this board too!).I don't think we will participate in the FE our first time around, would add too much extra planning I think!

Thanks to PP for posting the number of days left. I have not been keeping track of that.

Hi All,

I'm starting to think about my FE gifts--do we know the final headcount?

Thanks!
Dawn

Hi all, I just checked the board since it's getting closer to the cruise and the cut-off date for FE gifts! Welcome Niki and Kendall to the gift exchange! I will add you to the list, making the total headcount so far 8 cabins:
adult females = 9
adult males = 6
teen females = 5
teen males = 5
younger females = 2
younger males = 1
28 total people involved. Please let me know if you have any questions. I'll try to get an updated list to everyone participating over the weekend, or next week at the latest. Happy cruising!

We've got our hotel ressies for the night before booked! We've got our parking reserved since we're driving down from the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. We can't schedule anything til Monday since it's our first DCL cruise but I have my list of everyone's activities and excursions. Looks like we'll be spread out all over haha! So excited!
