Hey everyone. So I was talking to someone last night who had done the program before and she said she loved doing Magical Moments. Two instances she gave were when she (an Emporium CM) had a sword-fight with a little boy pirate during the Pirates and Princess Party and the other was calling all of the little girls princesses and the little boys princes.

Now that I know about this, I am soo excited for this part! Making magic is one of the huuuge reasons I want to do the program! So I was just wondering:

What are some other examples of Magical Moments? I'd love to hear about any that you have experienced as a Guest or done as a Cast Member.

Thanks!

I worked in the Emporium during my CP as well! Most of the stores have a specific Magical Moment. I won't spoil the magic, but they are usually scheduled every hour. In the Emporium, girls are chosen to dress up a Cinderella doll. They make a wish, confetti falls, and they are an honorary fairy godmother. You'll have a lot of magical moments, planned and unplanned, and it will make your experience even more memorable! Good luck!:thumbsup2

I would give guests a tour of the tower at Everest (not allowed to anymore due to safety reasons). It helped kids who were scared of the ride to conquer their fears and ride, and people liked getting to learn how the ride works.

I'd also pick a random family and take them through the Fastpass line (sometimes we'd ride with them).

and the other was calling all of the little girls princesses and the little boys princes.

This doesn't qualify so much as a Magical Moment as it does a annoying Disney CM verbal tick that haunts Cast Members for years after they've left The Walt Disney Company, lol.

Anyway, the Magical Moments programme is an initiative of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. As part of this initiative, Operations Cast Members at the Disneyland Resort and the Walt Disney World Resort engage in pre-planned, scheduled moments that create a emotional memory for our Guests to take home with them.

Along with the Legendary Guest Service provided by our Cast, the Magical Moments programme supports our business objectives by creating within our Guests an emotional attachment to our Parks and Resorts, thus giving them an initiative to make a return visit, as well as to encourage friends and family to visit us as well.

Among the many Magical Moments performed at the Walt Disney World Resort....

At The Main Street Confectionary, located on Main Street USA at the Magic Kingdom Park, Merchandise Hosts & Hostesses invite children to participate in the making of the many confectionary products sold at that location.

Attractions Hosts & Hostesses at Mission: SPACE, located at Epcot, select a "ISTC Family of the Day". They are then given priority entrance to that Attraction.

Food & Beverage Hosts & Hostesses at Rosie's All American Cafe, located at Disney's Hollywood Studios create memories by asking their "famous" young Guests to sign an Autograph Book.

As Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park opens for the day, Main Entrance Hosts & Hostesses select an "Honourary Family of the Day". They are given buttons to indicate their special status as well as Priority Seating for The Festival of the Lion King show.

Parking Lot Hosts & Hostesses at the WDW Water Parks will select 10-15 parked cars and place "Thank You" notes on the windshields, thanking the Guests for choosing to visit their Park that day.

Guest Relations Hosts & Hostesses in the Downtown Disney Area designate a member of the first family to rent a stroller from them as "Mayor of the Day" and proceed to adorn the stroller with balloons and streamers.

Resort Guest Services (Front Desk) Hosts & Hostesses at Disney's Pop Century Resort do The Hustle with their Guests nightly at 6:00 P.M. in the Resort Lobby.

Housekeeping Hosts & Hostesses at Disney's Carribean Beach Resort, every Friday morning before leaving on their rounds, will have a giant Pargo (Golf Cart) parade around the lake-front promenade. Accompanied by Carribean Music, they toss out bead necklaces to their Guests.

i thought it was really cool when we ate at the Cinderella's Royal Table. they called the little ones prince or princess and the adults sir or m'lady. lol, felt like royalty.

i remember another time when i was on my may to space mountain with my oldest niece and one of my sisters' in-laws. and just out of nowhere a cast member came up to my niece and gave her a cup of ice cream. and it was her favorite flavor.

Goofster, I think what glendalais was saying (I'm not sure, just guessing) is that it's annoying to be in the habit of calling every little girl a princess/boy a prince when you're out in public and not in Disney. Like to think "hello princess" every time you see a child, even when you're not working or in Disney. :)

Yes, that's what I meant.

It's all nice and well to do when working inside Disney, but when you're doing with the little girl in the cart in front of you while shopping for groceries....not so much (and depending on how protective and convinced that someone is trying to do something with their child the parent is, potentially dangerous).

There are all sorts of behaviours CMs pick up from working at Disney that stay with us for years afterwards. This is just one of them.

ooook, I'm sorry then glendalais. It wasn't a personal attack of any sort, and it did seem out of place for a cast member. Please accept my apology on that. Actually, I had just gotten in a little argument with a friend on my floor, and came on here, so it had nothing at all to do with that, it was just a rant/vent. And yes I totally understand that it is creepy and weird outside of Disney lol. And I truly am not a prick or anything reading over that is a little embarassing I'm sorry again. Thanks for making that magic incidentally, while we are here lol.:sad1:
Have a Magical Day!!!

The planned Magical Moments are so boring sometimes. It's the ones you create from your heart that you remember the most.

Since I could get my hands on stacks of re-ads, I used to give them out to "the cute little love birds" to go conquer the MK mountains. Or to the little kid who finally listened to mom or dad.
One time standing on Main Street, a father and his son (who I think was mildly autistic because he seemed a bit old for his behavior), well the son didn't want to leave to go back and rest at the hotel. So i asked him what was wrong and he told me he didn't want to leave the park, he was having too much fun. It was summer time, and it was the rountine schedule of 3 o clock parade, 4 o clock rain. So I told him it wouldn't be any fun to get stuck in the rain and that if he did get rained on, he'd still have to go back and get dry clothes on. So I pulled out four re-ads and told him, that when he comes back after the rain is over, they could go on any two rides without waiting in line. It perked him up so much, and went out without a complaint. A couple days later, the father found me again and thanked me for helping him out, and that his son really enjoyed using the re-ads.

That's when you remember things... when they come back to find you to thank you. It totally makes it worth it.

Last summer, when I was working with the Power Rangers, I got to be part of a Magical Moment. Sometimes a family will be picked to be in a group picture with all of the Power Rangers. Well, on this particular day, the family picked had 2 little kids who LOVED the Power Rangers (knew everything about them, watched all the shows, ect). They were thrilled to be picked.
