SO, last time I went I did a few things to add to the trip.

I "had to run back to the hotel" first night on the way to dinner. When we got back there was a card from Mickey with Mickey shirts for the family. My DS said, "Mickey is a swell pal." They wrote thank you note and handed it to Mickey the next day.
I did this daily, I knocked on the wall and acted like someone was at the door but had shirts in the towel wrapped around me and answered it. Wouldn't you know Tigger sent shirts over too.
I pre-ordered "guest of honor" badges for the kids. Found a CM and had wife distract kids while I explained to CM what I wanted. Amazing that they knew my kids names and was waiting for them, thought my oldest kid. :rotfl2:
Couple more of the shirt things and I was done.

I got a lot of ideas on this board and wanted to post this for others to start thinking, but I was also interested to hear new ideas.

Other ideas to make our next trip extra special in this manner?

Thanks in advance...:coffee:

After my kids went to bed, Tinkerbell came to our room and left them little surprised for the next day at the park. Ideas might be disposable camera, glow necklaces, sunglasses, and stuff to do on the plane on our way home. I set out a little wash cloth and sprinkled it with light green glitter and put the little gifts on top....told DS Tinkerbell came and left a gift and some of her magic dust.

On our trip to WDW and latest to DL I had disney cookies from Cookies by Design (I think) delivered to our hotel room and waiting when we walked in the room along with a note from Mickey and the gang saying how glad they were that we were there! My DS's 9 & 13 loved it and the cookies taste great!

I also do Mickey Bags - found some at Hallmark, every night Mickey would deliver something to the bag - T-shirt, trading pins, mickey $'s, lion king cookies... so every morning they had something. It was great motivation for the 13 yr old! We spent a lot less in the shops too - the boys kept saying, "What Mickey gave us was better!"

I love Disney Magic!

Several weeks before our trip I started sending notes on Mickey head shaped note cards to my kids from their favorite Disney characters. They said things like "I heard about your trip and I can't wait to meet you." or "I heard you are having lunch with me at the castle (WDW)." They were "signed" by the appropriate character. They loved it. I even found Disney stamps at the PO.

I created invitations using Disney fonts for each event that we attended (character lunches and breakfasts, shows) and they mysteriously appeared in our room each day, addressed to the kids with our hotel name/address. I think this would have been more fun if they didn't know ahead of time everything that was planned.

What a great thread!

I've read that you can ask at the resort hotel front desk for a signed photo of your child's favorite character, and they'll bring it to your room.

My DS6 lost his first tooth one morning in the park, and that evening I went to the front desk of the DLH. I was hoping to get someone to write a teeny tiny little note from Tinkerbell to DS, congratulating him on losing his first tooth.

The first person I asked had no idea what I meant, but someone else overheard and took the matter into her hands. She got some info from me, then disappeared for quite a while (10 - 15 minutes maybe?) When she came back she had an autographed photo of Buzz Lightyear and Woody (DS's favorite characters), a special "faxed" electronic message from Buzz to DS, a handwritten note from Tinkerbell on a small envelope with Tink printed on it, and 3 pins! WOW, that was cool, and DS just loooooved it!!!

I am so excited about this thread, we will be going (me DS5, DD 22 months and DH) in August and my kids will LOVE these things!, and I just might have more fun planning it all out!!

Thanks so much for these great ideas!!!!!!!!!!!

Jenn
