Magical Memories??

I have used either Dreams Unlimited or Dream Come True Vacations - both are top notch!

I don't see anything on the Magical Memories Travel web page about who they are, or photos of the owner or agents, etc... Its also nice to see testimonials from happy clients - I can't find that info either. That type of info helps me feel more comfortable when using an online agency.

Another vote for Small World Vacations.....WDWVacations.com.
Great people and super service. They saved us $800.00 last year by changing our original AAA discount two times as better deals came out. They even made our priority seatings for us. I'll never again do it myself when Small World can do it better and for FREE!!!!!

I have used them and I highly recommend them. Their owners are DIS boards members. My agent has always been extremely thorough in finding me discounts. I've left all of my priority seating and fireworks cruise arrangements up to her as well and she has always managed to get everything we ask for.

We also appreciate the free TGM subscription!

I did a search and found a few other DIS members mentioning using them

Another happy Magical Memories customer! Lori was able to get our friend's CRT within the 90 day window! Called CRO every day until Lori got them the PS.

I would HIGHLY recommend them :)

Magical Memories Travel totally ROCKS!!!! i cannot imagine any other travel agent going as far above and beyond as they have for me! and trust me, i've tried... gotten quotes from others agencies recommended here and asked questions only to get short clipped answers and not a lot of help... asked MMT a few questions and i got more than enough answers... every possible scenario researched so i could make an informed decision! could not ask for better than that!

i'm not an AP holder, but when i checked my voicemail this morning it was my MMT rep calling to tell me that AP prices were released for my travel dates and how getting an AP would impact my prices... that's GREAT SERVICE!

MMT has been so good, i cannot endorse them enough... suffice to say, i am a great fan! :cheer2:

The DISboards.com Guidelines state:

5. ADVERTISING: The only commercial advertising permitted on these boards, are those that are contracted through the site. Any posts that are deemed as advertising for a commercial interest will be deleted. Commercial advertising is considered to be any individual posting for the purpose of promoting a for profit organization not directly affiliated with the DIS. Visitors are free to share their experiences with various companies, but anything considered advertising will be deleted and the user will lose posting privileges without discussion.

8. LINKS TO OTHER SITES: You are free to post a link to your web site on our discussion boards, provided that a) you are not offering a commercial service or for profit venture, b) you do not repeatedly and excessively post the same link over and over again on the forums within our site, and c) that you place a link back to the DIS on your site in an area easily found. From time to time you might wish to post links to other sites that contain information not found here on the DIS. While we encourage this, we ask that you please make sure the information is not already contained on our site (remember, the boards make up only 10% of our site).

I personally have no problem with the many testimonals (are they real? LOL) that other disboards members are posting about any of the online travel agencies, but I feel that when the owners of the business start posting about their own business, they are "promoting a for profit organization not directly affiliated with the DIS"....

A friend had his DIS userid deleted for similar behavior months ago - he would personally love to rejoin the DIS and be able to promote his business, but he doesn't out of respect for the rules.

Thanks.

Tom

as a satisfied customer i don't see where the rules were broken... someone asked who is MMT and the owners answered "we are!" i posted a testimonial based on my personal experience... and if you'd like my (very high) opinion of the yellow taxi company that does business in wdw i'd gladly give that too... kwim? :cool1:

tom, i notice this is your first post to the dis boards... you really read those guidelines well before posting, eh?

have a happy day... :flower:

"Buying products on the web can be scary.

Customers want to know :

* Is a web site secure?
* Is this a reputable business?
* Does this product actually do what they promise it does?

Customer testimonials can PROVIDE the answers to such questions, BUILD trust and CLOSE sales!"

from http://www.soho.org/Marketing_Articles/Testimonials.htm

I was just trying to help - I am a full-time Internet Marketing Professional - I have seen proven results from the use of testimonials - written, audio and video. Readers can tell when a testimonial is fake.

Just look at the power of the DIS when it comes to Dreams Unlimited Travel - almost 68,000 board members - and how many threads have many happy DU clients? Even DU has a great testimonials page http://www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com/faq/clientquotes.cfm

Sure, they could be fake - but I doubt it - you should always require at least an email ok from a client before posting a testimonial on a website for legal reasons - and I bet many of these happy clients could be emailed as a reference.

Lori and Dawn - I was in no way questioning your legitimacy as an agency, I was trying to state what many consumers feel help them feel comfortable with an online business.

Other things that help raise a comfort level:

- SSL secured data entry form (the lock symbol in your browser), even if no credit card info is entered - I have seen requests triple once this is in place!
- BBBOnline reliability symbol
- photos of the owners or members of the business
- symbols from membership in organizations (CLIA symbol, etc)
- contact info on every page, usually in footer - email address and/or phone number, address - where is business located? even though it is the internet, consumers 'connect' with local businesses or even businesses in their state or a nearby state.

Yes, it is a lot of work to get all of this on the web site. But I have seen one business quadruple its rate of web requests by implementing many of these suggestions.

Have you had clients call and ask you the "How do I know I can trust you since you are on the internet?" question yet? Someone will, eventually.

I wish you luck in your endeavors.

As I stated, I had "A friend had his DIS userid deleted for similar behavior months ago - he would personally love to rejoin the DIS and be able to promote his business, but he doesn't out of respect for the rules."....

The friend was also a Disney travel agent who was mentioning his agency, just as the Magical Memories owners did, and all of a sudden, with no warning, his account was gone - all of his very nice, helpful, non-self-promoting posts - hundreds of them - gone.

He was hurt - as he felt he was a contributing member of the Disboards community.

In looking back, I believe I was put-off by this statement:

"We believe our clients feel the same way and have appreciated the time we took to make their dining arrangements; assuring they were getting the most they could for the price they were paying for their package or room only reservation; ordered La Nouba, MNSSHP & MVMCP tickets; organized Grand Gathering events; arranged for fireworks cruises and children's programs like Grand Adventures in Cooking and the Wonderland Tea Party; set up tours of the parks; and we wake up at 6 am to secure Cinderella's Royal Table for their trips while they sleep in far more valuable then seeing our picture on our website or reading potentially false testimonials."

It just seemed a little too self-promotional for me.

You beat me to it! :rotfl:

I have this friend who wanted to pool-hop once.... ;)

I am using MMT for my trip in less than 2 weeks and they are awesome. Lori has kept me up to date on all of the discounts available, like buying an AP when I know I won't be returning again within the year. But purchasing the AP has saved me hundreds of dollars. I am so used to planning my own trips, but after using MMT, I am hooked on them. Lori was even able to get me the coveted CRT after the 90 days were up because this trip came up after the 90 days.

I love MMT and will use them for my next trip!!!!
