Magical Gatherings-any luck with cancellations?

I tried to book a Magical Gatherings (The Magical Fireworks Voyage) but they are sold out for when we are going in early November. After several emails, someone contacted me an placed me on a waiting list in case of a cancellation. They also mentioned that if demand was great enough, they would even open another boat, but there is no guarantee. Has anyone had any luck with this? I'm just wondering what my chances are. I think it filled so quickly because they are not offering the Magical Gatherings option in Epcot (The International Dinner) because of the Food and Wine Festival which is happening at the same time. We have 27 in our group but I think they need 120 to fill an extra boat.
