Is there a Thread somewhere about magical Express - is it good, experiences, recommendations etc., Please post. Or Post experiences here under this thread :moped: :moped:

Oh yes...there are many threads here dealing with DME! However, I'll give you my own experiences. I've used DME twice now..first in June, flying Song. Got my yellow tags about 4 days before we left. We arrived in MCO at noon and we were on the bus at 12:15, left MCO for our resort, BCV, at about 12:30. I was checked in by 1:10 and sitting by the pool, waiting for our room at 1:30. got our room at 2:30 and our luggage arrived at 3. Terrific service. Worked great going back also....left from POR. Got to the DME desk at 8:30 am, gave them my luggage, they gave me my boarding passes. Went back to the bus area around 11ish for the 11:30 bus. Got to MCO at 12:15 for our 3:00 flight.
Used DME again last month. Stayed at Pop. Had only carry-on this time and flew SW. The timing was the same this time around. We were at Pop about an hour after arriving at MCO. We got into our room right then, about noonish. Going back was fine...can't get rid of luggage since SW isn't a 'participating' airline, but left it with Bell Services. Retreived it from them 20 minutes before we wer due at the bus area.
All in all, it was a wonderful service...made even more so since it's free!!! I'll be using it again in Nov and yet again in Oct '06, just before they discontinue the no charge policy.

I have a question about DME. I just made an online reservation for POR in November with the AP discount. In making the resy I was asked if I needed DME on arrival or return. I was asked to specify my airline, flight number and arrival time. Soutwest was included as a choice even though it is not one of the particpating airlines. Does this mean that Disney will send me tags for my luggage?

I know that we can use DME anyway because the ME person at MCO with the Mickey hands said that we could. If we touched our bags, she said we would have to bring them to the bus for the trip, but if we checked in at the DME desk first and gave them the luggage tickets, they would pick them up and deliver them to our room. Has anyone done this for Southwest or for one of the "non-participating" airlines?

I think the "non-participating airline" thing is only a problem on your return flight home. You should be given luggage tags for the flight from home into MCO. But like a previous posted said, you have to handle your own lugage on the way back (meaning, collect your bags, carry them on the bus with you, and check in your bags at the airport). If you have a "participating airline" for your return trip, you can do the baggage check step right at your resort - your resort can also give you your boarding passes.

Does that make sense?

Thanks for the reply. That will work great for us since we will be renting a car later in the week and will be returning it to MCO so will not need ME for the return. :)
