How is Disney's Magical Express working for everyone?? The idea of not getting my luggage off the conveyer belt myself worries me. We arrive at Orlando at 9:57 am and are staying at GF.

Any problems/stories/etc???

If it makes you that uncomfortable, you realize you have the option of picking up your own luggage from the conveyer and taking to the DME counter, don't you? :)

The only complaint I have heard is that it may take a few hours for your luggage to get there after you get there. Since you are arriving so early, it shouldn't be a problem for you. If you were arriving late, I would suggest you bring a carryon with necessities for the first night.

You are still at risk of luggage getting lost by the airline. I suppose there is also a small added risk of Disney not picking up all your luggage. It would just get kept by the airline until it gets picked up by another ME.

We used it last month and LOVED it! It went perfectly for us. We were at the resort with no confusion, etc in less than two hours..IN our rooms. Luggage was in the room when we got back for dinner/MK. Since we cruise a lot, we don't care at all that it took them a few hours to get it to us. Just pack things you might need in a carry on, pretty simple. We were 12 people, 6 adults and 6 kids! We had 17 checked bags. I can't even express how AWESOME it was not to have to deal with all of that at the airport!!!!!!!!!!

We walked off the plane, went right to DME counter...only ONE from the party had to check us in and on the bus we went. We were the third of three stops. Checked right in once at POR. Taken right to rooms. Did a few things, went to dinner, then MK and came back to our bags being right in our rooms. Doesn't get much better than that IMO!

I'm doing an "experiment" this weekend. I am only running one, non-essential bag through the ME program. I will have two carry-ons for everything else.

I also have an added problem.............My luggage tags say Carib. Beach. However, we changed to BCVillas and although member services made the change, apparently it was too late to get updated tags. So, the ME office told me to cross out the bar codes and then whoever scans my luggage will have to physically look up where we are staying.

I'll update the results when I get back! :flower:

I was one of the early users back in May. Everything went fine, except I didn't get luggage tags until about a 1 1/2 weeks out. Arriving at MCO Disney had CMs in navy jackets and big Mickey Mouse gloves everywhere. They directed me to the DME counter where I was quickly checked in, had my travel voucher stamped, then was directed to the line for POP Century. I waited in a line 5-7 minutes, before getting onto the DME bus. The bus was not even half full when it left the airport. POP was the first stop and because they knew we were coming had LOTS of CMs on duty at the front desk to check us in. My room was ready, so I dropped off my carry on bag, and headed to the parks. My plane landed at 9:20am and I was in the MK for lunch. When I returned that night, my other bag was in the room waiting for me.

Checkout was just as easy. I took my bags to the DME counter, he printed my boarding pass, then I went to a character breakfast in MK, not returning to my resort until around 3:00pm just in time to hop on the DME bus. Because I had checked both of my bags for the return trip, I went directly through security and to my gate upon arrival to MCO. Again the bus was not even half full and it did not stop anywhere else on the way to the airport. My bags were waiting for me when I arrived in Dallas that night.

We're driving down in September, but in December I'll be flying down again and will be using DME again. I may have been lucky, but I got to my resort just as quick as if I had used a town car and saved $100.00 that I was able to spend on other things. I was traveling solo in May and loved being able to just breeeze through the airport without having to deal with my bags.

We arrived in MCO at 11:50, on the bus at 12:15, at resort at 1:00, third stop of 4 (Beach Club), in room at 2:30 and luggage was brought up around 3:30ish.
