Magical Express

Wasn't sure where to post this, but could someone tell me the "rules" around Dis's Magical Express? We had plans to fly in and stay over night at the airport because we're getting in so late. I wanted to book ME for the next day from the airport to Dis and then book it for our return flight home. I was told that I could book the ME for the flight home, but couldn't book it to Dis because it's not booked for the day of my flight.

After some interesting discussion, MS said that they used to do this, but haven't in some time. Thanks for anyone who can clarify this for me, since I've received conflicting info from 3 MS reps on this one!

No surprise on the conflicting info. What some people have done in your situation is to look at the airline's schedule and find a flight number arriving approximately the time you think you'll be ready to head to WDW that next morning. Then give that flight number to the DME people.

Thanks for the suggestion! I just thought this was a crazy policy unless there's some security measures that they have to abide by. If I remember correctly, you're already outside of security at that point, so it just didn't make sense.

It has more to do with not providing the Hyatt MCO with customers than security.

My only caution with this approach is if the flight you "pick" has delays or cancellations. ME will know about them and reschedule you on a later bus so you may have to wait around at the airport much longer than you planned.

Thanks for the info. I just changed my ressie to stay in a value resort the first night and then move to SSR the next day. I was not going to spend 95 points for a 2-BR just to sleep!!! Since Dis will transport and move us, the additional $20 - 30 dollars we'll pay to spend on Dis's property is probably worth less aggravation! Since we would have to move anyway (whether from the airport to Dis or from a value resort to DVC), I just went ahead and booked accordingly. Unfortunately, there are many times we go to Daytona, drop my parents off (with the rental car) at MCO and then go to Dis. Guess we'll be taking a taxi moving forward!!!
