Magical Express without luggage tags?

We signed up for Magical Express several weeks ago, but never received our luggage tags. When I called about it, I was told that we could still use ME without the tags- we just need to turn in our luggage claim checks to the Disney desk at MCO.

I'm a little concerned about this. Has this happened to anyone else before? Is there any chance our luggage will make it to our room in a decent amount of time?

Yes you will be fine they will just pull your bags from the carosel not in the back.They might even have a way to still pull them before they hit the carosel but I noticed them pulling some bags in Oct from another flight and taking them into the back so I assumed thats what it was for.

Whether your bags are DME-tagged or not shouldn't affect how long it will take for your bags to show up in your room.

If you are overly concerned about not getting your bags in a decent time frame, just go to baggage carousel area and get them yourselves and take them on the bus with you. It's not a problem to do this and you'll have your bags with you, rather than wait for them. Just another option for you.

I don't know about them actually taking, and keeping, your baggage claim tags given you by the airlines. I do know that they want the claim tag number and information.

We did this with Disney Cruise Lines right after one the hurricanes a year and a half or so ago. Since we originally didn't expect to be using Disney's transportion they needed our baggage claim tag information, number of checked bags, and description. These bags were brought to our room at POFQ very promptly that evening. Ships wasn't sailing that day, so they put all of us up at a Disney Resort.

I was kinda nervous given the unusual circumstances, but it all worked out excellently. If it worked this well then, then I would think it works just as well with ME under normal circumstances.
