Anyone have any experience taking magical express with a wheelchair? Are the like the HA busses that go to the parks? My gram can walk a very short distance but no steps. Also do you think we would have to wait very much longer for a bus?

Thanks in advance,
Tammy

They are different than the busses that go to the parks.
They are like tour buses and have storage space for luggage underneath. That means they are very high off the ground. Here is a picture of the stairs to get into the bus, so you can see you will need the wheelchair bus:

Not every bus is accessible, but they do have wheelchair accessible buses. You may have a wait, but it's usually not much longer than if you took the non-accessible bus. If you let DME know that you need the wheelchair bus, your wait for it will be shorter.
Here is a picture of the bus lift:

In this picture, the lift is in its highest position and my DH and DD are just inside the door.

Thanks for your response. Great pictures! The lift seems quite high, hope it doesn't scare my grandmother, but I'm glad I can show her the picture. Trying to decide between ME and town cars/limo for a groupof 7.

It is pretty high. It would probably scare me, but doesn't bother my DD at all.
I thought pictures would be a good thing to have so no one is surprised by it.

I am thinking of purchasing a transport chair with us in December for my mother. We were planning on using Magical Express as well. She could probably get up the steps of the bus, will ME store the chair for us underneath the bus? Or how does that work?

I don't know how storage of a manual chair will work. My guess is they would put the chair under the bus with the luggage. This could save you the time it takes to wait for a lift bus, which can be about 20-45 minutes.

::yes::
That doesn't work for us, since DD needs to stay in her wheelchair, but I have seen people do that.
