I'm really curious how this is done. I wasn't exactly sure which board to post this on -- sorry if I got the wrong one. I did a search and didn't find it but I'm sure it has been a question that has been asked before.

With the ME (which I love!) vs renting a car which we did in the past, how do you do a grocery store stop? ME saved us $$ vs renting a car to get to Disney. I know I've read about grocery delivery, but if you aren't there how does that work? We wanted to get milk and juice mainly. Figured we could pack cereal, etc. then use that room for souveniers! Suggestions? Ideas? What do others do???

We are using ME and having our groceries (milk, water, fruit, bread, cold cuts, yogurt, etc.) delievered to our room (gardengrocer.com) it is only a $10 delivery fee and they will also pick up beer. We are also mailing (UPS) a box of goodies and breakfast stuff to the hotel. I have two kids that are very picky eaters so having a bunch of granola bars, pretzels, animal crackers, fishes, will go far and save my pocket book.

Do you know if you have to be there when they are delivered? What do you do about having perishables kept cold if not there?

I ordered groceries from Gooding's (www.goodings.com) last May and will do so again in November. With them, you don't need to be present for delivery. In fact, they deliver to Bell Services (BS) and not to you, so whether you're in your room or not makes NO difference. BS calls your room, and if you're in they will deliver your stuff to you. If not, they leave you a message. BS keeps the cold stuff cold for you -- Gooding's separately bags and labels the cold stuff. You call them back when you get in and they'll get your stuff right to you. Easy as pie.

We actually hired a car through Sunray. It's going to cost us $82 round trip (and they said they'd use an SUV or a van) and we get a 1/2 hour grocery stop at a Publix. We thought the grocery stop was worth it. :thumbsup2
