Can you decide to not have DME deliver your bags and get them off the bus yourself?

If you want to take your bags you would have to not use the DME tags and get them off the carousel and take them to the bus.

The best part of DME is the luggage handling. Why not pack one carry on bag and let DME deliver the rest.

I usually send the bags with the tags and not worry about when they'll arrive.

However Im thinking of taking a flight in Nov that doesnt get in till 10pm. Not sure if I want the bags arriving at 3am!
on the other hand I may be staying at Pop just that 1 night and want the bags early so I can checkout and check into another resort

That's not how DME works. If you tag your bags with the yellow luggage tags, then the bags will be pulled 'behind the scenes' so to speak. They will not arrive anyplace for you to get them. They are not on the same bus that you are traveling on. They go on a truck to the resorts. If you want to take your own bags, rather than have DME take them, then do not tag them with the yellow tags. Then you will go to baggage claim, get them yourself, and they will go underneath the bus that you are on. The bus driver will load, and unload, them for you. A tip for this is considered appropriate....about $1 a bag.

My wife and I have to many medical issues to keep everything in our carry on so We're not tagging our bags for M.E. we are however having M.E. transport us to the resort from the airport and back AFTER we pick up our own bags at baggage claim.

They are perfectly fine with that.
