Think I'm pretty clear and what happens going to WDW with Magical Express. What is the process for Canadians on return trips using Magical Express? Do we bring our luggage with us on the bus? Thanks!

you can leave them with bell services (called luggage assistance in the value resorts) until about 30 minutes before you tragically depressed bus picks you up. Drag them with you as your head hangs low and give them to the driver and they'll be stored under the bus for the saddest ride of your entire trip!

We will be using the express going to the airport for the first time on our next trip.

How early do they pick you up from the value resorts? 4 hours?

Yes, 4 hours for a flight to Canada. From any resort, not just the values (in case anyone else is reading for info).

Are you flying into Canada with a Canadian airline, or flying to a US border state with an American airline. If the latter, Disney can take care of your luggage and get you your boarding passes.

I am planning to book a 8 pm return flight for Christmas this time. I usually book late afternoon, but really want to squeeze in a few rides before dragging myself aboard the Tragic Express. It will be around midnight when we arrive back to Toronto. Maybe we will Uber back so DH won’t have to be up so late to pick us up from the airport.

We just got back from our trip Thursday. Our flight departed at 2:17pm and the Magical Express picked us up at 11am.

We had an issue where we checked in late for our flight which Delta did not give us a seat number. Disney luggage services would not check our bags because of this. They said we were placed on stand by and could not guarantee we would get onto our scheduled flight which was worrisome. Therefore, we had to throw our bags on the bus and check them at the airport. Luckily, it wasn't a busy day and we got an agent right away. Security had a 5-9 minute wait as well.

Were you flying direct to a Canadian airport? For those flights, pickup is four hours ahead and you cannot use the Resort Airline Checkin, so your info wouldn’t necessarily apply to the OP.

OP, my advice is to leave your bags with bell services on checkout day until about 30 min before your bus time If you want to go to the parks or hang out at the resort pool. Be at the ME bus stop (not the same one as for the parks) with your bags already reclaimed from bell services at least 15 minutes before your bus time. Your bus time will come in a letter to your room the day before, and it will be roughly (but not exactly) 4 hours before your flight. You give that letter to the bus driver when he arrives, and he loads your luggage under the bus. You get your luggage back from him at the airport, then go upstairs to the main level to the WestJet desk (which is very close to where the bus drops you off on the lower level) to check your bags and such. The security checkpoint is just to the right of the WestJet desks. It’s very easy, just a bit time consuming.

The only thing keeping me from being too sad yesterday was looking forward to seeing my fur babies who I missed so much. They were suitably loving when I opened the door so there was that. But also snow. Not so happy part. And laundry. Very unhappy part.

Approximately, yes. I always assume 4 hours when booking flights (which is why I refuse to book anything earlier than 10:30 am which is bad enough) plus they want you there about 10-15 minutes before your scheduled time. The scheduled time is when the bus leaves the resort not when it arrives. Ours was 5 minutes early yesterday (usually it's about 10 minutes late) and he left as soon as he'd picked up his allotment (I assume they know how many they're supposed to have) so we were onto the next resort within about 2 minutes since there were only two other couples there.

We flew from Detroit to Orlando and back. The Detroit airport is only 25 minutes from my Canadian home. :)

Thought so. The domestic (US) flights get a much easier time of it on the return trip, with pickup 3 hours before and the ability to use RAC. International flights from MCO have a 4 hour pickup and no RAC.
