Not sure if I am on the right thread but....I book DVC for October 9-14. When I went to book my flight I got saved on Southwest almost $200 to come in a day eariler. Since I do not have any extra pts to book another day at Saratoga, I figured I would stay at AoA for a night. Soooooooo my question

Can Magical Express take my luggage directly to Saratoga or what would be the easiest way to get from AoA to Saratoga?

I usually only stay at one resort without renting a car......Hmmmmmm

Thanks in advance!!

It's kinda old info, but I believe it is still accurate. I've got a split stay in November/December and this is what my plan was.

No worries, Disney can take care of that for you. On the morning that you’re done with your first hotel (Hotel A), check out and bring your luggage to the Bell Services desk. Tell them that you’ll be moving to your second hotel (Hotel B). Bell Services will tag your bags for transfer and give you a receipt. You can then be off on your merry way to enjoy some park touring.

Later in the afternoon or evening, when you’re done with park touring or need a break, take Disney transportation directly to Hotel B. Check in there and then head to Hotel B Bell Services. Give them your luggage receipt and let them know that you had bags transferred from Hotel A. They’ll find your bags and either hand them over to you or ask you if you need assistance getting them to your room.

You should know that bag transfer from Hotel A to Hotel B usually takes several hours. In most cases, your luggage won’t arrive at Hotel B until mid to late afternoon, possibly even after check-in time. If there are items that you’ll need during the day, be sure to keep them with you while your luggage is being transferred. This may be one of those times when renting a theme park locker could be helpful.

If you’re doing close budgeting, you should factor in that you will have a few more people to tip when you hand over your bags for transfer and when you collect your bags at Hotel B.

Call ME and get the luggage to your first nights hotel. Take a taxi with your luggage to the next hotel when you check out.

I don't believe DME would take your luggage to Saratoga since your first night is at AoA. They will deliver to where you are checking into on your arrival day, which would be AoA. On the day you move from AoA to SSR, you can take your luggage to bell services and Disney will send it over at some point during the day, but it may be a few hours so be prepared for that. The alternative is for you and your luggage to hop in a cab and go to SSR. The benefit here is that you don't have to wait for your luggage, but it adds an additional twist if you are trying to make rope drop on this morning.

The Magical Express service (which is contracted to Mears) runs only between the airport and the resorts. It does not go between resorts. They cannot drop you off at AOA and take your luggage to SSR. That bus may not even be going to SSR. And if you select the luggage delivery, they will deliver it to the resort where you're checking in that day - not the one where you are going to be checking in the next day.

To move your luggage from one resort to another you have two options:

1) Have bell services at AOA pick up your luggage, or bring it to the luggage area at AOA, and transfer it to SSR. You should be aware that the luggage would probably not arrive at the resort until late afternoon, and don't leave any valuables or anything you might need during the day in the transferred luggage.

2) Get a taxi at AOA to take you and your luggage to SSR.

You need to let DME know of your change in arrival resorts. Then, put those yellow tags on for AoA. When you get to AoA, take the tags off, and then get a cab from AoA to SSR. You can have AoA move your bags over to SSR for you, but it isn't quick. It will take the entire day...you probably won't get your luggage until 5ish. It's nice to have your luggage at the resort with you, even if your villa isn't ready yet. And if it is ready, you can get settled in right away.

Thanks everyone!! I was not aware of the bell hop service. That is such a relief off my mind. I won't need my luggage till later in the afternoon.

:banana::love:

You might consider booking a room at the Hyatt at MCO for one night. It may be cheaper than AofA, and you get get up early and take DME to Saratoga.

Well everything seems to be working out. I booked AoA today w/park passes and now get the 2 disney quest passes and mini golf passes! Little Mermaid room for $118 not bad... Score!!

SSR is DVC so we were not able to get those benefits.

called regarding ME and they confirmed what was said above, I just take my luggage to the bell hop and they will move my luggage to SSR. one less thing to worry about! Thanks again everyone. :cool1:

What was the total for tickets and a one night stay?

in regards to the benefits....we would like to use the mini golf coupons as well. I don't recall a bus going there. is there a resort close enough to walk over?

Winter Summerland is in the same parking lot as Blizzard Beach. So to get there, just take the BB bus and walk across the parking lot. Fantasia is near swan and dolphin, so going to any Epcot resort would allow you to walk!

There isn't a bus that would take you from your resort to an Epcot resort, though. And taking a bus to Epcot would require entering Epcot in order to get to the Epcot resorts, so she would have to use up a day on her tickets just to get to Fantasia, or she could do Fantasia on a day she was planning on going to Epcot anyway.

No, but she could easily to a park other than EPCOT and hop on that bus to the resorts, or go to hollywood studios and walk. Sorry I wasn't clear, I didn't know if she meant in general or from her resort

Taking a bus to DHS could get them to Fantasia Gardens without using a park ticket.
