Magical Express question

Our trip is in January and we have our flights booked so now I'm wondering how far in advance should we book Magical Express. TIA!

You can book now. You need your flight information and if I remember correctly, your resort confirmation number. Should your flight info change, you just need to keep them notified.

I'd book it right away, just because :). I've never actually taken it TO the airport (only back) and I wasn't sure with limited capacity how that might affect things.

This is OT, but I just wanted to mention, airlines are still constantly making changes! We booked Magical Express for November and then moved resorts so I notified them. About a week later my airline changed its time but I'm holding off notifying MDE again just yet since I'm fairly confident it'll change again soon lol. Our airline hasn't yet pared-down/consolidated their flights for November yet (we were changed like 4 times in August, the last one very close to our trip). I put a big reminder on my radar to make the changes with MDE once the flight options look more stable.

Another question. It asks for the resort reservation number. I actually have multiple due to booking different times at a DVC. Should I just put the first one? Actually I just went ahead and did that. LOL

You'll need two separate reservations, then - one for your flight in and one for your flight out. Otherwise they'll have you booked heading back to the airport from your first resort. That said, once you're there, someone at the front desk should be able to fix it.

I should have mentioned I'm at the same resort. We just have different reservation numbers.

You can call DVC and have them link those reservations so you only have one reservation number. Unless you are staying at different type villas at that resort.

Even though I put in the date that we are actually leaving?
Yes, because DME eligibility extends from the day of arrival to the day of departure for your reservation. You cannot use the first resort booking to ride DME back to the airport at the end of the second booking, since it will be the wrong departure date compared to the reservation. Just book the return using the second reservation number to avoid any problems.

How do I go about this? When I filled the form out there was not place to put it. Should I contact them now by calling or wait till I check in?

We are renting someone else's points and they are using points from different years so they can't be combined.

You can call, there's a toll free direct number somewhere in this forum, or you could wait until you arrive. Front Desk can do it for you, or when you first get to DME, tell the CM checking you in that you want or need to book your return trip.

You simply fill out the form twice. There's a checkbox that asks if you want to book for arrival and another for departure. You'll need to un-check the box for the arrival reservation when booking for departure.
