Magical Express Question

I have rented points to stay at Polynesian starting Nov. 20, however we found a better price on airfare by arriving the day before our Poly reservation starts. How would Magical Express work in this situation if I added a room at a value or moderate hotel? Could I still get ME with just a room reservation for one night? I understand I can have our luggage moved to Poly the next day very easily. This is all new to me, we usually stay off site. Thanks for your help

I did this recently: had a reservation then added a one night stay at a different resort at the last minute - less than 36 hours.
I didn't use the luggage tag, collected my bag, walked up to the DME counter and they looked up my reservation. No issues at all.

You have plenty of time to adjust your DME reservation to get your luggage sent directly to the new resort - if that's what you want to do.
If you don't want new luggage tags just don't use the Poly tags, collect your luggage and go directly to the DME counter.

Yes, the luggage transfer from one resort to the other is easy.

Yep. You can take the Magical Express with any Disney resort reservation, length of stay or room vs package does not matter!

If you're staying at a Disney resort for any length of time, you can get DME. Also, moving luggage from one resort to another was very easy.

Immediately call Magical Express at 866-599-0951 and modify your DME reservation to Disney to have the new arrival date and rough time of day (for the new one night Disney's resort stay).

If you do not get new DME yellow tags in time, use the tags you already have. Write in the new (arrival) resort name and date, and draw a line through the originally printed resort name and date, if applicable.

Another alternative is to stay at the hotel in the airport and take ME the next day.
