I apologize if this is not the right forum.

My family and I will be going to WDW next April. My brother will be going down a few days before us with his family. He will be staying from Saturday to Friday (dont have exact dates yet). Me, my wife, and MIL will be flying down that Tuesday. Me and my wife will be staying until that Sunday while my MIL will be leaving with my brother and his family on the Friday. So she would be staying from Tuesday to Friday.

My question is whose resort reservation should she be under? Mine since she is arriving with us or my brothers since she is leaving with him? She is not able to travel alone and I just want to make sure she will be able to get on the Magical Express with my brother when they leave and have no issues getting on it with us when we arrive?

I hope this makes sense. Thank you in advance for your help!!!
 
Honestly, I think either would work. But if you put her on yours she would definitely be able to leave Friday with your brother without issue. On a recent girl's trip one of my friends left two days earlier than the rest of us. ME was easily able to input her flight information and there was no issue with her leaving separately from the rest of us. I'm not sure about the "additional adult" charge on the room, the front desk may be able to remove the charge the last two days when your MIL is gone? That might be something to ask about, even though it used to just be twenty-five dollars a night.
 
Put MIL on the reservation for the room in which she will be staying. Otherwise, her MB won't work for the room. She can take ME to arrive and/or depart on whatever date suits her, regardless of which reservation includes her. Just call ME and give them her travel plans; or since she's arriving with you, just give that info at the front desk to arrange for her early departure.

Keep in mind there is a charge for a 3rd adult in a room. Also, you mention your brother and family, so it may not be possible to put MIL on that reservation depending on the resort and room-type.

We are entitled to a ride from and to the airport at any point and in either order between checkin and checkout days.

So she could be on his reservation and still arrive late, or on your reservation and leave early. Doesn’t matter whose reservation she’s on in this case for dme reasons.

But you do want her band to open HER door and to not go over room capacity. :)

It's really not a big deal if she leaves before you, my now husband left a day before I did the last time we stayed on site. I think we just called DME the day we started the vacation (or something like that)

We do this often, my sister always arrives after and/or leaves before us and we just make the DME reservation for her dates.

Definitely put your Mom on your room reservation as she will need to be able to access the room.

Make the DME reservation now - no reason to wait and this way you will get your luggage tags etc. You can do this online or via phone and just give them the actual flight reservations for everyone. Your mil will have her own DME reservation for departure day but since she is on the same flight as your brother they will be on the same bus.

There’s nothing to work out. You just make the reservations for dme normally. They can handle people arriving at different times without a problem. If you get the 1 cm that has an issue politely end the call and call back 5 minutes later.
 
We often arrive at different times and one person in our group usually arrives on a different day. Just put the correct dates and times for her flights in your DME reservation, I do it online. Make sure her departure paperwork arrives in your room the day before she leaves, if it doesn’t call and they’ll fix any glitch.
