Magical Express Question

OK, oddball scenario for us. My Son's friend is coming to join us partway through our upcoming September trip. He has his own room (All Star Sports), but will be staying with us on the night he arrives at the FW Cabins.

Will he be able to take Disney's magical express to FW? Does he need to do anything in advance to arrange the trip from the airport?

We almost had a similar situation at the GF and this is what they told me:
Once you arrive you should be able to add him as a day guest to your reservation and then call DME to set that up. Since you won't get luggage tags for him beforehand they suggest requesting extra for yourselves and giving the other guest one beforehand. Alternatively he can get his own luggage.

I hope this helps, I assume it should work the same way at the cabins as long as you are within the occupancy limit.

Just a word of caution some people on the DVC boards have recently reported having trouble adding guests at/after check in at the resort-I personally did not have this happen so not sure if it was a fluke or new policy but thought you should be aware

He needs to be added to your reservation. If you're on any kind of plan, that will complicate matters. If on a plan, you will have to go to the front desk and have him added after you arrive. Then, make his DME reservation then.
You can book with Mears...it's about $12 for one way. After he pays for the ride, he would probably be sent to the FtW DME bus. He should book his return trip on DME as well.

Thank you all very much. I will look into adding him to our reservation. For the Mears shuttle, does that require a prior notice to Mears, or do they run regularly throughout the day?

Mears Shuttle from MCO doesn't take reservations, as far as I know. You just walk up to the counter.

You can book the Mears shuttle online, but I don't know if they will book a one way. You can also just walk right up to their desk and get a ride.

We just had the same situation in June. We added my friend at the GF upon check in as a day guest, and she used her band to board ME when she arrived 2 days later. We did however bring her suitcase with us, and she just had a carry on, so there was no confusion with the checked luggage transfers.

Thanks! This is our exact scenario. Much appreciated.

Will he have his own ASSports room that night? Is he just staying with you that night for fun, or because he has no room?

People have said you can't be on more than one room per night. Now that they have these accounts that match us to profiles, they can figure it out; before, it was just a name. I'm sure there are tons of same-name people staying there any given night. But if he has one MDE profile and has his own room that night, I'm not actually sure you CAN add him, unless he uses a different profile for him?

I might be complicating how things could be thought of, by the way. If I'm off base that's OK, I sometimes am. :)

If he doesn't have his Sports room AND can be added (or if he does have the room but can be added) then you can arrnage for DME (before he gets to town) to take him to FW.

If he has a room and can't be added, if for some reason he just can't be added (like at least one person said, there have been reports of issues adding people to a room once the stay has started), then he can just take the bus to Sports and then get over to your place. Taxi is what I'd recommend, personally.

He will not have a room for that night. From the information above, if he is not able to use DME, then he will take a shuttle or taxi. Thank you very much for the reply! :D
