I'm sorry if this is the wrong place, but we are planning an August 2014 trip to Animal kingdom lodge, and I was wondering what resorts share a ME bus with AKL, and whether AKL is first, or last? Thanks!

AKL is in the same group as CSR and the three All Stars.

As for order, it really depends, and varies from trip to trip - I think they kind of route them based on load (number of people for each resort on board).

In slower times, they have been known to add other resorts together into the same bus.

One trip we had 7 resorts on board - I know this because we were dropped off at the 7th one. :rolleyes2
(This was not an AKL-group trip, but we did drop some people off at CSR.)

Thanks for the reply! The times I have been on we have always been the first stop, I guess lucky because we always want to start going to the park right away!:)

The bus routes for ME are not fixed. The number of resorts, and which resorts in particular, a bus will be assigned to changes according to need at that time. What any of the PP's have experienced may not reflect your experience.

Additionally, it is the bus driver that decides what order to hit the different resorts so you have no way of knowing in advance if AKL will be the first (or last) stop.

There are some resorts that are more likely to be lumped together (e.g., all of the All Stars, Beach Club and Yacht Club, etc.), but the actual resort groups depends on the needs of the day. Same for the return trip (from WDW to MCO).

I arrive the Saturday after Thanksgiving every year; I stay at POR.

This is the busiest check-out day, so the idea is to get as many buses to the airport as possible and then get people on to get back to the resort. They have never once even filled the bus when I was there.

And in the years since ME started, I don't think I have ever taken the same route twice nor been on the same run of resorts.

To do a standard lot of resorts and a standard route, it would be very inefficient, because you may not need multiple buses at a time for a particular resort.

Therefore, it is most practical to do it based on need and not a set block of buses or order.

Personally, I wouldn't sweat it; you are on the bus and you are on your way - the ride is the best part of starting the trip.

I'll see your seven and raise you 1 - 8 stops AKL last. All 3 allstars, POP, CSR, CBR and one more that I can't remember @ the moment. I'd never seen the values or CSR, so that was a bit interesting. The after stay questionnaire asked about DME and I let them know I thought eight resorts was too many for DME on one run. We started out in daylight @ the airport and by the time we finally rolled in to AKL it was dark.

We just stayed at akv ans we shared with aoa, pop, and csr both ways. We were the last stop on arrival day and the first stop on departure day
