I could not pass up the Southwest Airlines deal to ORlando...$118 round trip pp! Not as great as Value Jet's $38 round trip we got 8 years ago, but much better than I had found..the only problem is that we have to stay a full 7 nights...

I do not want to pay for a 7th night at Contemporary...plan on heading back to Hyatt Regency Airport for the last night since we have an early morning flight...the Disney rep said the returns are based on our airline tickets...if we check out on the 16th but our flight is not until early morning on the 17th will Magical Express not take us back to the airport on the 16th? Trying to cover all my bases...thanks so much!!

Figure out what time you want to leave the Contemporary for the airport on your check out day. Find a flight that leaves about 3 hours before that. It doesn't have to be on Southwest. When you make (or modify) your ME reservation, use that flight.

You are da bomb!! Thanks so much! I just read where on a sticky the title says "participating airline" will I have a problem if I fly in on Southwest getting Magical Express? Going to go read the stickies!

Disney rep was wrong - you can use DME any time during your reservation regardless of if/when you fly. We have done this many times without issue - call DME directly to make arrangements.

Some people use a "dummy flight" to book but if you call DME directly they should be able to book you without a flight.

No problem at all. First of all, airline doesn't matter for the inbound flight. You can use the yellow tags and your luggage will be delivered to your room.

For the departure, since you are only going to the airport to check into the Hyatt, you will need to take your luggage with you on the bus. The driver will store it under the bus for you.

If you were actually going home on check out day, you would check your luggage with the RAC desk and not have to worry about it until you got to your home airport. Southwest is now a participating airline.
