So my family is staying at GFV and my sister and parents are staying at OKW during the same week. My parents are driving and my sister is flying. Can my sister be dropped off at GFV and take the magical express with us since we have the same flight or will she need to be picked up where she is staying?? Thanks!!

She needs to get the ME bus at the resort she is staying at. You should plan a meeting place at the airport.

Ok so here's a follow up question. What if we put her on the reservation at GFV. We have a 2 bedroom with 5 people so we have more then enough room. So what if she spends the last night with us we could just put her on the magical express reservation on ours right??

Having the same person on two reservations really messes with their band. They'll only be able to use it to open one of the rooms, and it might not be the one you intended.

i wouldn't.
that may start becoming quite confusing for disney.
besides its just a bus ride.
if its really THAT important that she can't ride the bus alone then i'd suggest she just stays with you the entire time.

She has to be picked up from her resort. You don't want to put her on 2 separate resort reservations, as that could really mess up her Magic Band, and make many things a giant pain in the rear.

Not to be argumentative but how does it mess with Disney(but sorta I guess )?? I mean it's just a name on a resort reservation. What if I had two family members with the same name on two different reservations. I just don't think it would matter. Especially if she doesn't have any park tickets or dining plan attached her magic band. She would only be using it to open a door and as long as she uses the magic bands sent with my parents reservations she'll be able to get in the door at OKW. And if she gets dropped off the night before we leave she could just switch to the magic band that is sent with our reservation.

But on the other hand it really isn't a big deal either way. I would just rather make my travel life easier than Disney's.

You don't want her to end up with a Magic Band glitch, do you? Booking on 2 separate resorts is just asking for the system to get confused, and goodness knows it has enough problems.

i don't think you're understanding how intertwined things are.
her MDE account would show that she's staying at a two different resorts at the same time.
also magic bands are not linked to a specific reservation.
the system would likely get confused.
you said its not a big deal so what's the problem?
why is it that she cannot just ride a bus alone for an hour and meet up with you guys at the airport?

But she doesn't have a MDE account. She would be put on separately as two separate people.

Let me put it this way then. What if I call her my her middle name on my MDE and reservation then there shouldn't be a problem. They don't check ID.

It's more to help me with two 2 year olds rather then her riding alone. She doesn't care if she has to ride alone.

so if she needs to help with toddlers on the way back to the aiprot then who is helping on the way to the hotel?

if you absolutely need her then stop trying to mess with the system and just rent a dang car!

Once again, the answer is NO. Any attempt on your part to add her somehow to a second resort could well mess her up. Maybe if what you are looking for is for her to be along to help you should book a town car. Though unless you are leaving something out, after handling 2 toddlers during the trip the ride to the airport on a bus would be a piece of cake for you. Wouldn't you have to pay the extra adult fee to add her to your resort? A town car would be cheaper.

Honestly, it seems as if you are bound to do what you want. So I'm not sure why you asked in the first place, when you seem determined to ignore the rules anyway.

I'm just saying. No one has given a definitive reason as to a yes or no. Have y'all tried it?? It doesn't seem like anyone has tried doing what I asked about. If not then no reason to try to give an answer that you don't know.

And why not get all the help I can get with two toddlers?? And why not get it for free??

You seem bound and determined to ignore the advice you asked for. Of course, that is your prerogative. Good luck--I think you are going to need it (or rather, your sister is going to need it when she can't get into her room at OKW on the last evening)

We haven't tried it because it is against the rules to be picked up from a resort other than your own. We have tried to explain to you that you are risking messing up her trip, but you don't seem to want to hear it. So, as Disney World Dreamer said, Go for it. But keep in mind it is against the rules of the Disboards to post looking for how to get around Disney's rules.

She wouldn't have trouble because she's not staying there the last night.

Sally Sue is staying at OKW and Sue Sally is staying at GFV.

Just talking with you all it made me figure out how this can work.

I understand that something like this would be hard for say someone who has tickets and meal plan and charging privileges but for someone who is just going to use a magic band as a key and they don't have a MDE account and the same name could possibly not even be on the reservations. In that very specific case it won't mess anything up because there isn't anything to mess up.

It would just be nice to hear from people who have tried this and either failed or succeeded.

And what's being cheated?? What I'm a getting that I otherwise would not be getting??
