Starting to do a little pre-planning for next year. Plan on spending a few days at the beach first and then heading over to Disney. Is it possible to only use Magical Express from the resort back to the airport.....without having used it to get to the resort?

Absolutely. You could also choose to drop your rental car off at MCO on the way to Disney and take ME from there. All you would have to do is pick a flight to give the CM when you set up your ME ressie that is around the time you want to take ME.
