We were pleased overall with the Magical Express. We threw them for a loop with our split stay (3 nights AKL, 3 nights POFQ), but they made it work in the end.
About a week before we left, we got our DME packet, and it had luggage tags for POFQ, although we were starting our trip at AKL. Called that day and had the new packet by express mail the next business day with our AKL tags.
We put the AKL tags on our bags and went to the airport. Checked in at Southwest, and got on the plane. Changed planes in St Louie, and arrived at our gate at 11:20 pm. It was easy to find the DME helpers in the airport, and they had a small army of CMs checking people in. It was a very busy day, and we waited about a half hour after checking in for our bus - which was one of the Mears black and yellow numbers with a small piece of paper in the window identifying it as a DME bus (they must have called in reinforcements). No video to watch on our bus since it wasnt a true DME bus but our driver was very personable and entertaining in his own right. We first went to Swan and Dolphin to drop off Disney Cruise folks, then deposited a bunch of conventioneers at CSR. Finally got to AKL at about 2:50, and were checked in by 3:00. Luggage arrived to our room at about 4:15.
Going Home:
Got a note on the door the day before instructing us to call for a shuttle time. Wth an 8:25pm flight, we were booked on a 5:30 DME.
Our return flight was on Delta, so we were able to take advantage of resort airline check-in at POFQ. This was awesome! Went to the desk in the main lobby, and checked in our 4 bags and got our boarding passes printed for both legs of the flight home.
Then we checked 2 carry-on items with bell services and went to MK for much of the day. Came back to POFQ at 4:30, cooled off and put on clean dry shirts/pants. DME bus arrived promptly at 5:30 and we got on and headed for MCO. Got to watch a fun video about reliving memories whilst in transit featuring many of the characters. Dropped off at our terminal and went to dinner. After eating, we went through security and straight to our gate. No problems at all with the boarding passes, and when we got back to KC all of our bags showed up on the luggage carousel.
Overall, a great experience for us - meeting our needs for this particular trip quite nicely!
Of course, this is a statistical sample of one. As always, your milage may vary
