I seem to remember that for a fee one could book the magical express as a limo ride. I went onto the DVC site today and could not find anywhere to book this nor find out information about it. Am I remembering this correctly? If so, how does one do this as a DVC member?

I would think you have to call MS for that .

I also think maybe that it's just an add on to a Package and may not be available any other way (room only ,DVC ).

Even an E-mail should get you an answer.

Also they are not really with Magical express at all they are contracted services that handle that for WDT . You could research the same carriers for this some are even here on the Boards ( transportation)

There is no fee with DME. You just need to be staying at a WDW owned resort, and arriving at MCO. That's it. But, you do need to book it in advance. I believe there is an area of the DVC member site to fill in the info you need for DME. They are having login issues today though.
You will be asked for your reservation number, your flight info (arrival time, flight numbers, departure time). You can book DME for anyone who is listed on your reservation. It is easy to do. You may want to call MS to get it accomplished. Oh, by the way...it is not a limo, it is a bus, but a nice bus.

I'm thinking the OP wanted to "upgrade" DME from bus service to limo service. I don't think that is possible, but Disney/DVC may be operating as a booking agent for a limo company. Probably not an actual DME upgrade, mor likely a negotiated price for an outside limo service.

Yes that is exactly what I meant to say. WHen we booked our room only reservation last April, there was an option on the DME reservation form to upgrade to a limo for a fee. I just assumed that I would have that same option through DVC also. I do have an email into MS, hopefully they can give me and all of us some more info on this.

Disbound - I would love to know the answer to this also. I have a suprise trip planned for my daughter and I in June and I would love to be able to do an "upgrade" from ME (was never crazy about that service!)

Please let us know what you find out.:thumbsup2

Wow, that's news to me. I've used DME about 5 times now..as recently as last month and again in a week. I've booked it through Disney, through DVC and as part of a large group. I have never heard of being able to 'upgrade to a limo for a fee'. You can hire a limo yourself, but I don't suppose that's what you're talking about.

We always use Tiffany town car and they have Limos too. They have always been on-time (actually early) and very nice. You can book on-line too. We have used them for many, many years and have NEVER had a problem.

Was the room only reservation booked through CRO last April? I have not heard of this option either. I would imagine if it existed, it would simply be full price cost of a limo, since there is no cost associated with ME to begin with.

I would suggest shopping around for a limo service. You can visit our Transportation Board here on the DIS for lots of ideas. Good luck!

When you book through CRO on-line you have 4 options for ground Transportation .This is with Package only for Room only there is just ME as an option

1>Disney's Magical Express
Let our complimentary, hassle-free transportation service whisk you and your luggage from Orlando International Airport directly to and from Walt Disney World® Resort!

2>Rental Car
For the most flexibility, rent a car for your transportation needs

3> Limousine Airport Transfer Service
Travel in style round trip with this elegant transportation option.

4> Town Car
Reserve a chauffeured sedan to transport you and your family to and from the airport.

It's just like Air travel . It's available but I'm sure you can do better prices on your own.

I ended up calling MS today to get the fees. MS does not book the upgrade, you have to call Star Transportation. The fee is $85.00 one way and it includes everything.

Yes the room only res was booked through CRO on line. And I tried to see if the option was still available by booking a reservation on line today and it still is. The price seems to be the same as calling Star Transportation your self like MS told me to do.
