Our TA booked DME for us and when we received the information in tags in the mail, only half of the tags arrived, the arrival date was wrong and all the flight information was incorrect. Our TA checked to make sure they did indeed have the right information and told us to still use the tags, since the resort is corrrect. The 2nd half of the tags would be arriving any day.

When I still had not received the rest of our party's
tags, I called DME myself and yes they did have our correct flight information, but the DME agent said... NO, do not use the incorrect tags.
we are a few days out from leaving, still no corrected tags and I have to express mail them to the 2nd half of our party, since they are flying via a different city. DME said he could not break up the tickets since we have one reservation.

What do they really use when collecting the baggage to getting them to your room? Can we use the tags that have the correct resort on them and names on them, if we cross out the other information (date and code numbers)?

Thanks

I wouldn't use the incorrect tags. Keep your baggage claim tickets that you get when you check your bags. When you check in at the DME desk, give them the baggage claim tickets. They'll use them to get your bags.

This past July my friend received her tags and all the info was wrong. DME told her to still use the tag if the corrected ones didn't come in time (which they DIDN'T ) since all they do is look for the yellow tag to pull the luggage. She was told to CROSS OUT THE BAR CODE so that the agent could not scan it and get the wrong info. from the bar code and simply handwrite the resort and correct name, if wrong. Lo and behold it worked ! No problem what so ever. Would not worry about correcting the tag yourself. Good luck !

Thanks... Interesting that when I read the barcode # to the DME agent was told it was for a completely different reservation. Yikes... Will see if we get updated tags shortly.

Thanks... I did not know you could do that with DME.
