We are going to WDW in October. I called Disney with my flight info back in mid September, and they said I would be receiving the tags for my luggage and any info in the mail. I was wondering if anyone else had used this yet and how far in advance you get the materials you need?

I booked my trip about five weeks in advance and got my DME tags/packet about two weeks later. But, um, are you sure you called Disney with your information back in the middle of September? :)

Sorry.......I called in August to give them my info....sorry brain freeze there while typing. When I got yourreply I pulled out all the stuff I write and keep with my info when I book and I called and added the Magical Express on August 8 to be exact...... Shouldn't I have something by now?????? We leave in 36 days and still nothing and I called a month ago.

When will a Travel Agency receive their client’s Airport Transportation Booklet with luggage tags?

Approximately 21 days prior to a Guest’s arrival, an Airport Transportation Booklet containing general information and luggage tags – to be attached prior to leaving home – will be mailed to the travel agency with the Guest’s name included, which the agency must deliver to their Guest. Special delivery arrangements will be made for those booking between the 10-day cut-off and the 21-day mailing timeframe.

Sounds like you still have a few days left to wait.

Thanks for the great question and responses. I too was wondering the same thing today and came here for help before making yet another call to Disney. We leave on 10/1 and booked our airfare thru Disney's Central Reservations and called about 3 weeks ago to add on ME so hopefully our info will arrive soon.

We also arrive Oct. 1!! We received our ME package today, by fed x(sp). My question is my return vouchers say, 10/1 instead of 10/7, our date we are leaving!!

We leave on Monday (less than 3 days) and we still have no ME tags. We also booked through Dreams and have Sue Ellen as our agent. I emailed her to find out where the tags were and I was told to decorate my luggage so that it can be easily found.

I have to say I am less than enthused with that answer... especially after hearing about people who are getting their tags FEDEX. Why am I just left to attach ribbon to a black suitcase in hopes that it will make it to my resort?

We leave on 9/24 and just received our ME tags today. We booked through DU (Sue Ellen is the best).

Am I the only person who has been way less than thrilled with the overall Sue Ellen experience? She seems to be off or away from her computer more times than she is on... I just sent her an email to ask about my ME tags again and got an auto reply that she is off again.

Don't get me wrong, she is certainly nice enough. But other than secure the CRT reservation for me, the DREAMS thing wasn't an experience that I would consider all that useful. Do other Disney veterans feel the same way??

I have mixed feelings about using a TA at all. I have a solo trip planned for late November and I thought I would get a better deal going through a TA, but I really didn't. However, of the few quotes I received, DU was the best price and Sue Ellen was very prompt to respond to my request.

My mixed feelings are also coming from the fact that I'm not doing a TON of planning. Sue Ellen set up my MVMCP and ADR for LTT that night, but I haven't really needed her at all since then, especially since I plan to wing it a bit this trip as I'm a solo  Since that's all I've needed, I guess I just don't need someone to be a really hands-on TA. I could have done it myself and probably will do it myself in the future. I also feel like I would appreciate the planning magic a bit more if I were doing the calling to CRO instead of just emailing a TA :goodvibes

We booked, tharough a TA, a one nights stay at Pop Century and using DME from MCO to resort. Then, we're doing a 7-night cruise with transpotation from Pop to Port on our own. After the cruise we're doing a 3 nights stay at Pop Century, booked ourself, with DME from Pop to MCO.

Well funny thing.... Got our DME tags for our 3-night stay, that we booked ourself, in the mail this past week. Probably don't need those. AND ....Haven't gotten our DME tag for our MCO to POP transfers for our one night stay that we booked through a TA.

Just luck of the draw? Or, is it something to do wtih TA's making, or not making, DME reservations?

Not worried about my checked baggage being delivered. Since DCL did that last year with no special tags on our bags. Just gave them the claim tag numbers and the bags showed up.

The same thing happened to me. I traveled May 8 - 14, when DME was brand new. I received my tags one day before departure. Naturally I called them, concerned about the wrong dates. The DME CM who handled my call read from his computer and told me my correct dates, even though the printed materials I received were wrong. It turns out my call was unnecessary, but I'd advise you to call, also, just to be safe.

This is what I've wondered... I think that the DU thing would be good for disney novices who need lots of information spoon fed. I got very little out of the service. Except that I am very frustrated about the ME tags.

I'm glad to hear that there haven't been any issues with the luggage, I should be able to relax a bit now.

I agree. I also do not ordinarily use a TA; however, I don't usually book a package, either :)
But because of the free MYW Dining Package, I booked through Diana at Small World Travel and everything went very smoothly. My e-mails were responded to within less than 24 hours, my phone calls were either answered or returned the same day, four of my six ADRs were booked (just as well, given that my trip was only four nights long!)
