Magical Express? How long...

Bring a book to read. ;)

Wait a second, wait a second ....

There's a lot of misinformed, prejudiced stuff being thrown around here regarding DME.

First of all, the "bring a book" comment, if it wasn't meant as a joke, is just complete B.S. Disney reports the average time from plane exit to resort drop-off as 70 minutes.

"Bring a book to read. ;) " See the little winky guy... That means in jest, not serious, joking. Besides, you could probably finish a chapter in 70 minutes. ;)

Yup, my bad. :dogdance:

:grouphug: It's all ok.....it takes a lot to offend me, so don't worry. By the way, I could probably read half the book in 70 minutes ! (SpeedReaders Anonymous);)

My only complaint about DMW is the return time to the airport. They want to pick you up 3 hours before your flight, and when used to use Mears, it was more like 2 hours, and this was after 9/11.

At the airport. When we finally left, it didn't take anytime at all. They have to
pick you up at your resort 3 hours before your flight back home. While we
were sitting on the bus at the airport waiting to leave my DH said, "So....when
does the convenience start?" That kinda summed it up. As long as you're in
no hurry, it's all good. :thumbsup2

Generally speaking, car services pick you up 2.5 hours prior to flight time. DME can be anywhere between about 2.75-to-3.25 hours before flight time. So we're talking a difference of 15-to-45 minutes. That generally won't make a difference between being able to do something and not being able to do something that last day. At least not for me. When it comes to setting things in motion to get to the airport, I hate cutting things close.

We will have the same experience---

waiting to hear this answer, too ! :cool1:

When we used DME a couple of years ago, we had a late night flight. I think we landed at MCO around 10pm. I don't remember exactly how long it took us to get to our room, but I know it was longer than an hour. Our luggage made it to our room about 2 am. My biggest complaint was with our return ride to the airport. We had a very early morning flight, so had to board the bus around 6:30 am...the three hours prior to flight that Disney requires. I had called a day or two in advance to tell them that we had to have a handicap accessible bus for DD. We wound up waiting about 30-45 minutes for a handicap bus...my daughters would have really liked to have slept an extra 30-45 minutes! (Looking back, that is why we had to wait when we landed at MCO. I had contacted DME in advance with all of our flight info so that a handicap accessible bus would be available.) But, DME is much better than having to deal with finding your luggage, etc...especially when you have one in a wheelchair :woohoo:

Question about the delivery of luggage. My FH and my plane lands at 8 something...I'm guessing we won't get checked in and settled til close to 10. I don't want my luggage coming at 2 am....so my FH said we are just going to get it ourselves when we get off the plane. Does ME really take hours to get your luggage to your room?

Yes it does. Our last trip it took 6 hours for our bags to show up. I understand that 3-4 hours is the norm.

Last year it took us almost exactly an hour from the time we got off the plane till we were waiting in line to get on the buss to Epcot. We were able to take the ME and check in during this time. The process didnt seem to slow at all. Besides depending on where you are staying, be perpared to wait (never an insane wait but still a wait) for Disney transportation all trip.

Overall, the ME was one of the best things Disney could have done.
