I think that I have everything in order for our trip tomorrow.

I have the yellow tags ready to go.

When I get to Orlando, I will proceed to the Disney Welcome Center.

I will be travelling without DH, but with my five year old.

He can ride on the bus without a car seat (eek!)

When I arrive at the hotel I will check in and give them a creadit card for my KTTW.

My bags should arrive within three hours. I will have essential toilitries, medicine and a change of clothing in my carry on bag.

Did I miss anything?

Sound good to me.:thumbsup2

Other than a bathing suit if you want to swim at the hotel when you get there.

You sound good to go. Relax and have a great trip. There is no need to rush to get to DME....if you need to, head to a restroom after you get off the plane. Then, go down to level 1 and checkin at the DME counter. Your ds will be fine on the bus with no seat. Be sure he can see the overhead movie...it will really get him 'in the mood' for WDW!!

Car seats can't be used on buses because there are no seat belts to secure them. There's no need for them on large buses, anyway. This applies to both Disney's Magical Express (the motorcoach between the airport and your resort) AND the Disney Transport buses (the ones that take you from your resort to the parks and back).

You don't need a credit card to check-in to a Disney resort. All you need is ID. If you want to set up a room charge, you can back it up with a credit card, debit card, cash, travelers checks, Disney Dollars, Disney gift cards, etc. No credit card is required.

Well I guess I have my questions answered...I planned on buying the CARES harnesses for on the plane...the thought of dragging car seats thru the airport leaves me cold...was wondering what to do about ground transportation but it seems if we are using the magical express, then we don't need them....BTW, has anyone used the CARES????? Would love some feedback before I invest....

Just to let you know, luggage can take more than 3 hours to arrive. I stupidly did not pack the rain ponchos in my carry on. We had ADR's at Chef Mickey our first night. I waited 3 1/2 hours before leaving POP and bags had still not arrived. Needless to say, there was a monsoon of rain that started about 10 minutes after we got on the bus to go to MK for monorail to CR. We were soaked to the skin. It was not a comfortable dinner. Thank god it had stopped for our ride back and yes, the bags were there when we returned.

Just checking, when you say you have the yellow tags ready to go, are they securely fastened on your luggage?
Also, remember your license to check in at the airport.
Not only remember your bathing suit, if that is what you are doing on arrival, but don't forget sunscreen in your carry on, your coverup and flip flops. Don't pack those things in your luggage, keep them in your carry on, you'll need to change after you check in.

Have a great trip!

You would not need the car seat at all unless you needed it in the airplane. It would go under the Magical Express bus and then sit in your room all vacation long.

OT: I'm afraid that only an unofficial Disney guide for Mensans would have suggested that you have proceeded to Contemporary immediately after checking in at Pop Century.

FYI, I am not one.

I have read good things about the CARES harness, so far! The only negatives seem to be from parents using it with younger children on the lower end of the weight range and the price. There are a few sellers on Ebay that rent the CARES as well.

If you want more opinions I would suggest starting a thread with your question here and on the families board. Lots of folks who use CAREs may not be reading a post on DME. - just a suggestion of course.

Actually, we checked in at POP about 2:00 and we didn't have our ressies until 7:45, so we didn't check in and immediately head to the Contemporary. I stupidily assumed that out lugguage would be delivered by the time we would have to head over to the CR. We left about 5:30, which is 3 1/2 hours after checking in and the bags still had not arrived. That is why I am suggesting throwing ponchos in the carry on because I certainly wished that I had.

Question? Can Bell Services store my carseat for me? We will be staying in a studio at AKV and I hear the rooms don't have a lot of storage space.

I had exactly the same experience at POP last Jan....adult dd refused to believe me when I told her to pack anything she would need for the first afternoon in her carryon...we had to wait almost 5 hrs for our bags to show up in our room.

Yes, they should be able to do that for you. Don't forget to tip them though.

Did you get your yellow magical express tags from your travel agent? How do I get mine?
The TA's should be sending along the DME info packets to the guests. I've heard of some people not getting theirs in a timely fashion. Disney sends them out about 5 weeks before the vacation starts. If you don't get yours, call your TA, just to be sure they're on top of things.
