magical express complications

We have a reservation on rented DVC point in January at OKW. There will be five of us in a two bedroom villa, four adults and one child. We always drive to Disney so have never used Magical Express and I don't know anything about it. We have the villa for seven nights and will spend a night on the road at the beginning and end of the trip.

We've had this trip planned forever (like all Disney trips!) and my husband just unexpectedly started a new job. It looks like he is probably not going to be able to take off enough days to be with us for the whole time so we are considering having him fly down to meet us for maybe four days in the middle of the trip, based on how his schedule works out. (He's a paramedic so he doesn't have a traditional 40 hour week at all.)

So my question is can one person on a reservation take the Magical Express if his arrival and departure days do not line up with the actual reservation? We check into OKW on Saturday and we were thinking that he might fly in Sunday morning and fly out Wednesday evening. Is that a possibility? Having never used Magical Express I wasn't sure how much it was actually tied to your hotel reservation. Or to the other guests in the room. He probably wouldn't even have any checked luggage as I'll just take what he needs with us in the car.

Sure everyone is entitled to one round trip on me. Just make your reservations without him. When you find ou his plan, add his.

sure, the dog and I are driving down in the camper for a 2 week stay at the Fort. The kids are flying down and only staying a week. All I had to do is notify CS and give them their flight info. Sambuster

My sister always comes and goes on different days than the rest of us and lately my older daughter as well - no problem. DME isn't really tied to check in or check out days or even to flight information (contrary to popular belief). Every registered guest can use DME r/t during the resort stay but it can't be before or after. Just call when you get the flight information or book online at:

Just be aware that the member has to make the DME reservation for you. You'll want everything settled before you make that request.

We had a trip that we were driving from New York, 2 days before we were to leave DH had to work. I flew down with my girls, DH had no clue when he was coming, till he was in a car on the way to the airport.
He had no problem getting on a magic express bus

Absolutely. You can take DME once to and from the airport, in either order you need, between checkin and checkout days.
