We usually drive in but this year will be flying. I'm not sure how the Magical Express Check Out works.

Our last day we have an ADR at 1900 Park Fare for breakfast and then we planned to shop. Our flight leaves at 8:15 that eveing.

So, we give Bell Services our luggage before going to breakfast? Can we get into it before leaving? We need to be on the ME Shuttle about 6:00 I think. Just curious as I'll need to put our puchases in the suitcases before we leave but we have to check out officially before any of that happens..

Hope my question is clear -- getting a little tired!! :goodvibes

Yes, if you have a late-departing flight, you can leave you carry-on luggage with Bell Services.

With an 8:15 flight, your Magical Express time will probably be around 5:15 (give or take 10 or so minutes).

You need to be waiting for the bus fifteen minutes before that time, with your entire party and all your luggage. That's the time the bus leaves, not when it's scheduled to get to your resort/start loading.

You need to allow an extra 15 minutes or so to claim your held luggage, in case Bell Services is busy.

I can't be sure if you are asking about the service where you get to check your luggage and then have it automatically appear at your home airport ... so please allow me to explain.

There are 2 separate services. Disney's Magical Express is round-trip bus transportation and one-way luggage delivery; the DME luggage delivery occurs ONLY on your arrival day, and takes the luggage from the airport to your WDW resort.

The other service is Resort Airline Check-in. RAC is curbside check-in that occurs in your resort lobby rather than at the airport curbside. Just like curbside check-in, you receive your boarding passes and check your luggage through to your final destination. You are only eligible to use RAC if you are flying on one of the "participating airlines;" if your airline isn't on that list, then you can't use RAC.

You must go to the RAC desk (in your resort lobby) yourself, and you must present your own luggage. You can have Bell Services transport your luggage from your room to the lobby, but you can't have Bell Services automatically take your luggage to the RAC desk and transfer it directly to RAC's custody. YOU must hand over your luggage to the RAC folks yourself. After that, you will no longer have access to your suitcases; this is exactly the same as it would be at the airport ... once you check your bags with curbside check-in or at the ticket counter, you give up access to your bags until you claim them at the next airport's baggage claim carousel. After you use the RAC desk, you can store your carry-ons with Bell Services, and you'll go back to Bell Services to get them back prior to waiting for your DME bus.

The RAC desk is open from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. You can use RAC as early as you want, but you can't use it any later than 3 hours prior to your scheduled flight.

If you CAN'T use RAC, then you'd have Bell Services store your bags for you. Before it's time to get onto your DME bus, you'd retrieve your stored bags from Bell Services. The driver will load your bags under the bus. The driver will unload the bags when you get to the airport, and you then check them in with your airline as you would any other time.

Thanks guys! :goodvibes

That's what I needed to know. I'll store everything with Bell Services and load my purchases before checking in at RAC.

Just a few thoughts....
It depends on what airline you are flying home on. If you are on...Airtran, Alaska, American, Continental, Delta, JetBlue, Northwest, United, then you will be able to check your luggage right at the resort, rather than the airport. As was already stated, the RAC counter is open from 5am to 1pm. You have to get your bags checked no less than 3 hrs before your flight.
The latest you could check your bags with RAC would be about 12:55 pm, then the counter closes until the next morning.

If you are flying home on any other airline, then you can store your bags with Bell Services. Be sure to return to Bell Services about 40 mins before your DME departure time. They sometimes take a bit of time getting out the luggage. Then, you can put any purchases away.

The other thing you can do is to just keep a carryon bag free to put your purchases into. No repacking will be needed then. That is an especially good idea if you are able to check your bags with RAC in the morning.

Will you have all of your shopping done AND be back at the resort by 12:45 p.m. at the latest so you can get your bags from Bell Services and pack them with your purchases, and then get to the RAC desk by before 1:00 p.m.?

I should be - resheduled 1900 PF to the day before. But, if not, it just means I have to do a self check-in kiosk at MCO, right? As I'll have a couple of hours at the airport, I don't think it should be a big, big hassle. :goodvibes
