Hi again,
Just booked my flight to Walt Disney World in May with my DW .

We never used ME the many times we have gone down to the "World" and are thinking of doing it this time. The one thing I don't like about ME, is I feel like it will take much longer to get to the resort than if we took a Towncar (which is what we usually do if we don't drive down).

I have a question about ME, we are probably staying at the BC this time. if we take ME to a deluxe resort will we leave before all the moderate or value resorts, do the deluxe resorts get "preferential" treatment.

I don't think so. When I take DME to Boardwalk, the route goes Airport > CBR > BW > Beach Club. It goes by which resort they pass first rather than "level". I landed around 1:30, picked up my luggage in baggage claim (so I could have it right away) and got to BW around 3:00.

There is no preferential treatment or order. They combine them all as the schedule and passenger load requires.

I was on a late night bus that went to a value or two, then to POR, and THEN to Grand Floridian.

Assuming you check your luggage and are planning on utilizing DME's delivery service, taking town car will save you about 20-30 minutes. If you're planning on waiting for your luggage anyway (and taking it on the bus), a town car will save you 10-15 minutes.

That's assuming an arrival during the day. If it's a later flight, a town car will be even quicker, because they'll wait for busses to be full (or no other expected guests to arrive) before leaving MCO.

Thanks for this info! I was debating DME or town car for our short upcoming trip, and have decided on the latter.

When I have used a car service, I have been at my resort about 45 mins after arriving at the gate, when having carry on bags only. If I had to wait for my checked bags, it was an hour, from gate to resort.
Using DME, I have had times between 60 and 90 mins...most around the 70-75 min mark.
There is no difference in transportation to the levels of resorts. When staying at BW, we're usually the second or third stop. When I've stayed at Pop, we were the first stop 4 times, the last just once...and those runs included AKL/Kidani.

Resort stops are routed based on areas....those resorts closer to each other will be on the same route.

I am staying at Pop, and I will make sure I take a proper shower before I get on the plane, just in case we end up on the same bus.

Seriously, the flip side to the travel by levels idea, is that the buses would take longer to load, since so many fewer people stay at the deluxe resorts. It would take forever to get a bus full enough to leave the airport. Us Value people just fill up seats so that you can get to your resort faster.

I think it's so us low class value resort people don't stink up the upper class, deluxe resort people's bus.

As I own DVC at two resorts, BLT and BWVs, and I often stay at Pop, I have to wonder where I fall in this particular classification.

I've said it before, and it seems to bear repeating......the deluxe category matters only while you're at that resort. That resort gets the 'deluxe' category because the amenities at that resort are of a more 'deluxe' type....more formal theming, nicer pools/area, fancier rooms, alternative transportation to parks, vs just buses...ie GF has the monorail and boat to MK and Epcot, as do the CR and Polynesian. BW/YC/BC have boat and foot options to Epcot and DHS. There are multiple restaurants within the Deluxe category resorts. Other than that? No further distinctions are made once you leave the resort. So, no....DME doesn't care what level resort you're at. And as far as buses at the resorts? Nope, deluxe resorts do not get 'better' bus service.

So, with all this in mind, we are either going to move away from the 'value vs deluxe guests' discussion, or the thread will be closed.
