Magical Express and Renting DVC

I rented points for AKV - Jambo House. We are at the 29 days out mark and when I checked the mail today thought it odd I didn't receive my ME.

Then I realized I never actually gave my flight information to my renter...must've been too consumed planning my FP+ attractions that I completely dropped the ball on this.

So, of course, since I rented, I can't get into my reservation to add the flight information...though I find it extremely hard to believe that they can't add the into without the renter when someone is in a bind...but, they did tell me that the latest they can mail the ME tags so that I get them in time is a month or 4 weeks out...which we are definitely at. I have tried to e-mail my renter to no avail.

What are my options? What is really the latest they can ship there? Is there still time? Is there any loophole?

When you rent from a DVc owner you don't own the reservation. Any changes additions etc can only be done by the DVc owner. It is one of the drawbacks of renting points. So no magic express will not add the reservation for you. You can add it at any point until you leave, but you cannot ride without a reservation. You don't absolutely need the tags. If you don't receive them you can give them your claim checks and they will retrieve your bags and deliver them to your hotel. Keep trying with your rentee. They just may be busy this weekend.

I was able to call ME direct and they added my flight information to my reservation. She said I should receive them in 7-10 days. She did say that the flight information was not added to the room reservation, but somehow she was able to add my flight info and mail the packet. I hope she was right? I still need to have the rentee add it to the room reservation. Maybe it's two separate things and she was able to do it?

I'm a dvc owner, but my last trip I was not traveling on my points. We were driving down, planning on arriving late Sunday or early Monday. FIL was arriving Sunday. Friday we had to change that plan so my girls and I flew down. I was able to call me on Friday to add it for Sunday. I was told I would still be able to have me get my bags, but dd wanted us to collect it.

I'm not too too worried. The woman at ME said I should receive them in 7-10 days. I'm sure I will hear from my rentee by then, hopefully. And if not, worst case we can collect our bags and drop them off with ME personally. I just lose some time in getting to the park sooner, but hopefully the woman today was able to do it for me. Fingers crossed. Thanks for the replies and alleviating my fears.

Just so you know if you get your own bags you don't just drop them with me. You take them on the bus ( driver places them under) and then if your room is t ready drop them at baggage services and pick them up when you return from the park or you can call and ask for them to be delivered after you are physically in your room.

If you don't get your tags in time, you should be able to just give your luggage from the airliine and then ME will get your bags. I had planned on doing that in December, but wound up getting my own bags.
