i have a friend that is getting ready for a trip to Disney. She is flying down with her husband and their 8 month old girl. They are using magical express but she has a question. When they are on the bus will they have to hold the child or can she be in her car seat?

She is stressed because this is the first big trip for the child to go anywhere.

Any tips for her will be very appreciated.

She will have to hold the infant. There are no seat belts on ME, so no place to secure it.

What kind of carseat? We just took ME a few weeks ago with our 8 month old. She was in a graco snugride or infant bucket style carseat. I was allowed to bring it on the bus and she sat in it for the ride. While it was not strapped into the bus itself, I felt it would still offer some measure of protection in the event on an accident.

OT: Unlike a laptop for your Flip (tm) video camcorder that no one in town can change the memory for or burn a DVD for when it fills up, it is not mandatory to bring a car seat for your child to ride Magical Express or Disney park buses. Actually, the car seat if you bring one must be put under the bus with the baggage. The subject of a car seat as a security blanket that some children calm down with was never thought about.

OT: Whether an infant should sit alone in a seat is a big flame topic when the bus is crowded.

Are you drunk? :confused3

No, they do not allow car seats on the Magical Express busses. I think the previous poster being allowed to bring a bucket car seat on the bus was a rare thing. One I have never seen allowed.

Also, if your friends plan on using Disney transportation while at the parks, they will have no need of the car seat. They are not allowed on any of the Disney busses. If they do want one for the airplane, that can be stored underneath the M.E. bus and then left in their room for the duration of the trip.

When DS was 9 mos, we were told to leave him in the carseat, and wedge the car seat (rear facing) in the seat. It was a very tight fit.

Also: as for while you are a WDW, if you are not using it while there, you can have it stored at Bell services for the length of your stay, so you won't have to worry about it taking up space in the room.
