Magical express airline boarding passes still delivered to our room

Just wondering if boarding passes are still delivered to your room upon departure.

The verbiage on the ME site is a little confusing because it states in one part "Resort airline check-in service is also no longer available."

Then under departure information it states "The day before you check out, we will deliver a Disney’s Magical Express transportation notice to your Disney Resort hotel room."

So are we able to get our boarding passes to our room?

Resort airline check-in was the service they provided where you could drop off your luggage and do flight check-in. That is not currently offered.

The evening before your departure, they leave a letter under your door you show the bus driver when boarding the bus. Those are two different things.

I've never gotten airline boarding passes delivered to my resort room. IF I did RAC (rare as I don't do check bags if I can help it), I'd get them there. Otherwise I get them at the airport or just use the ticket in my airline app.

So sad they stopped RAC. It was wonderful not having to drag luggage around MCO and line up to check bags.

So a suggestion for folks? Something we do every trip...

1) CHECK IN to your airline with smart phone or tablet. Then have your Airline CNF number.
2) Normally (as in you are home), you would print out boarding passes. But you have no printer at WDW.
3) No worries. Hit the Front Desk. Ask your Concierge to print your boarding passes, given Airline and CNF number. We've been doing this for years :).

Now - no RAC? This is why we are dismissing "Tragical Express" in 2021. Just using less-crowded MEARS Cabs, MCO to WDW, and in reverse.

I was just going to write a similar post. Thank you for stating this. :)

You will get a letter stating what time to catch the Magical Express. You will show that letter to the bus driver.

We flew with Delta and stayed at Pop. We did our check in on line, as well as pay our baggage fees. In the lobby, stuck in a corner, by the ATM machine we found a set up that we used to print out our boarding passes.

the next morning we took our luggage to Magical Express upon arriving at airport and grabbed our luggage and took to the baggage area.

Why not just use your Smartphone to display the Boarding Passes when boarding?

Always good idea to have a backup plan if you phone isn't working or the wifi/internet happens to be down at the airport when boarding. You can also print a boarding pass at one of the airport kiosks.

As far as I know, airline boarding passes were never delivered to your room which I believe is what the OP was originally asking. Paperwork to board the departure bus that Disney delivers to your room has nothing to do with airline boarding passes.

We have gotten southwest boarding passes in the past on our door but did not last month. We just used our phone for them and printed luggage tags at kiosks at the airport which only took maybe 5 minutes there.

Never had a "tragical experience" on the Magical express and I have been using it at least twice a year since 2012-sometimes 3 times.

We just used it 9/26 and 10/2 - no issues. We picked up our bags at MCO about 15 minutes after our flight landed. We brought them with us in line and we had no wait and boarded the bus. The bus left about 3 minutes after we boarded.

On 10/2 we left our luggage with bell services until about 15 minutes before the Magical Express came to pick us up. We checked our luggage at the airport (took 5 minutes) and then we went through security. I actually liked having my luggage with me on arrival at the resort. Our room was not ready, but we just left with BS and headed to MK.

We have even take Magical express to airport and then boarded bus to the Disney Dream.

Backup is key! I did paper for a long time before I was comfortable with electronic backups. Now I screenshot my boarding pass. That way if anything goes tech wonky it’s right there in my photos. The other reason I keep the photo of the boarding pass is in case I need to file an insurance claim regarding the trip, they always want the boarding pass.

Funny- Disneyland is what taught me that 😂 Their app would often lose connection at the worst times and instead of fumbling for the paper I would open photos for my ticket screenshots and bam! All the tickets to scan and no app issues.

As have my dear wife and I. With no luggage delivery, and a higher human density on what is left of ME? We chose to not use it. This was an excellent service. Can't wait for it to return.

GREAT concept - ever had any issues with Security and a screenshot? Just askin, because DW & I are going to start doing this....

Yes, as long as the barcode is scannable. If you have an iPhone, you can use your iPhone wallet to capture boarding passes, tickets, etc. Then you always have a copy on your phone. You don’t need internet connection to view what is stored there. We keep sporting event tickets, tickets to plays, airline passes, all kinds of stuff In our electronic wallet.

So frustrated about Disney dropping airline check in. We always check our bags going home. It was great to get that task out of the way. Plus you didn’t have to figure out what to do with your luggage for the day. Guess bell service will have to hold it for us.

You can also put your a copy of your boarding pass in your wallet on a smartphone. I do that with Delta for years

Nope. As long as the computer at TSA can scan it you’re fine (and as long as you screenshot your boarding pass a screenshot of it won’t look any different than pulling it up from an app). I’ve never had an issue.

”Tragical” just refers to your trip being over, not issues with the service.
