MAGICal Christmas 2008 - December 20, 2008

I say for the t-shirt and other items lets go with Amy's design. Are we planning on wearing them the first day? My mom pointed out that if we all wear them at the same time some people are going to think we are one huge family. I do think we should find a time to wear them and do a group picture.

Amy thanks for corrdinating everything for the dolphin encounter.

I agree Lissa I think that it would be cool to have a group picture done. I think that we should go with Amy's design also. Well off to work. Catch everyone later. Have a great day!

Wow, sounds like you guys had more success with online bookings than I did. Of course the only thing I wanted was Palo brunch, and I know that can be a tough one... but I certainly didn't do too well.
:sad2:

Looks like we may have to scrap our 'sleep in and get to port late' plan for an earlier morning in order to check for openings once onboard. Yuk!

We'd like to be on the FE list as well!

Also, regarding the ornament exchange - is it give one ornament, get one ornament or give 10+ recieve 10+? :)

Thanks!

Sheila,
That's a bummer that your booking didn't go well. Apparently the Palo reservations are the ones most likely to flux. Do you have a larger party? By the time we got to to it (a whole 10 minutes late) we were able to get a reservation for the 2 of us for brunch, but anything more was out of luck. You might want to check again at the 75 day mark - they may open up more at that time???

It looks like Amy's shirt design is the one we will be going with! I love the design, Amy and can't wait to see it on a red or green t-shirt (can we do that or does it have to be white?). Just let me know when we can order and how we go about doing it. And what have we decided about the dolphin day t-shirt?

Are we still doing the digital scavenger hunt? DS is really looking forward to that one.

Shannon

Hi All!
I loved both tshirt designs, but Amy's was my fave, so I'm glad that's what we're going with. I like Shannon's idea of the red and/or green shirt if it's possible. I'm not a big tshirt person, but would definitely order if they are a color.

For recent cruisers, do they still take a family picture when you board? If so, I'd rather not wear the group tshirts then. I'd like to have a picture of the three of us in regular clothes. Maybe we could wear them on a sea day and meet up for a group photo.

I ordered 3 dozen of different stuff on Oriental Trading this weekend for FE gifts. I thought I would get some Christmas gift bags and load them up to deliver once.

Thanks to everyone that's coordinating different things!

Corinna - PM me your cabin number so I can add it to the spreadsheet to make Fish Extender deliveries easier.

For the ornaments, Lisa Marie is coordinating, but I think we were doing a one-for-one exchange. She's also doing the Digital Scavenger hunt.

Good afternoon. We are staying in cabin 6560. We made our bookings this weekend (and it was a little challenging) but we got it worked out. Looking forward to the trip. The FE sounds like fun. It sounds like we are doing a T-Shirt? Can someone repost the details? Thansk!!

Hi Gang!
I can only be on for a minute (Shame on me, I'm at work) but I wanted to post about the ornament exchange. I think it would be best if we all brought one and got one, especially with weight restrictions on the airlines. We never did set a price limit but I think we can all just use our best judgement on whatever we're comfortable in spending. It's the whole idea of sharing that's nice, not the $ and .01, don't ya think? I'll update the participation list from home this afternoon as I'm doing a split 9-12:30 and 5-9PM. Yippee.

I'll check back in a bit,
Lisa Marie

Diana is coordinating the store for ordering T-shirts and will post details once it's set up. Congrats on getting your bookings worked out. I've added your cabin number to the spreadsheet and marked you guys as Fish Extender participants.

I'm getting more and more excited every day!

I know several of us are staying at the same places pre-cruise - whether at the airport or WDW or near the port - so if you're staying somewhere pre-cruise and want to arrange/host a "night-before" meet for those staying where you're staying, feel free to start thinkin' about it.

I know when we've cruised before that it has been fun to meet up with fellow-DISers the night before - it makes those last hours go faster and lets the kids get some "face to face" time.

Speaking of kids and "face to face" time, I will let mine bring their Nintendo DS's to the embarkation day meet. We have found this is a great way for kids to "meet and greet" because you know how they all are and gravitate towards other kids playing games. That will be the last time they have their DS's outside of the cabin, though :) Just thought I would mention it.

That sounds fun, Cindy! We are staying at the Hyatt the night before. I know a lot of you are staying closer to the port, though so it may not be possible for us.:sad1:

My kids take their DS lites as well as their MP3 players. We are driving to Houston on Thursday, staying the night, flying out to Orlando on Friday and staying the night and then onto the cruise. So with all that traveling, the kids need to be occupied. We take a portable DVD player for the baby:cutie: to watch her Mickey Mouse DVD's.

Now if anyone can answer about the ornament exchange that's be great. What is it all about?

Hi there!
The ornament exchange will be just some of us getting together and swapping ornaments, bring one, get one. It's just an informal way for us to get together, meet one another and celebrate the season. I'd suggest for everyone participating just keep in mind that you can't bring wrapped presents in our luggage. I'm planning to put my gift in a gift bag so it'll be easier for whomever gets it to bring it back home. So far we have 15 who have let me know that their participating. The time and place are yet to be determined, but it'll most likely be on an at sea day.
Feel free to post or PM if you have any other questions!

Are we adding where we're staying pre-cruise to that spreadsheet?

We're staying at the Country Inn and Suites at the port, I don't know if anyone else is. We plan on leaving right after school, I'm not sure if it's a half day or not, so right now I'm saying we're leaving here around 3 and will be at the port by 5. :cool1:

Lissa, are you sure you are ok with just using Amy's version?

I set up the shop last night, but there's nothing for sale yet.....I have to get Amy to resize the graphic and sent me the high resolution copy. Then I can go and put everything up. We're going away this weekend (with Amy) so maybe we'll have everything up by next week. I'll keep you all posted.

And whoever asked about visors, I don't believe Cafepress offers visors for the basic shops. When I set ours up, I will put one of everything possible in there (including the boxers and thongs but I don't want to SEE anyone wearing them!! )

Diana - I didn't put the pre-cruise stays on the spreadsheet, but I know there are at least four families staying at CI/S -- we are, and we have half-day school but that means 1:25 for our middle schooler, so we won't arrive til 7 p.m. or so.

It seems like more than just Shannon's family is staying at the Hyatt.

Anyway, I thought it would be fun to get together just to meet up and get a head start on putting faces to names!

I emailed the spreadsheet to those who have sent me email addresses. If you want it and haven't gotten it, just email me at cindysjunk@comcast.net

We fly in Friday afternoon around 2:30 and are staying at Beach Club Villas with dinner ressies at Teppan Edo. Anyone else staying at BCV or going to Epcot that night?
Tenya:santa:

We're staying at WDW, but we'll be staying at the VWL and having our 10th anniversary dinner at Artist Point, while the kids play in the Cub's Den.

Anyone else staying at WDW???

Diana I'm fine with Amy's design she did a great design. It will be nice to wear something besdies my own design since I'm the only one that does it in my family.

We are staying at the country inn and suites. Since we are now getting in at 9:30 in the morning were headed to EPCOT for a few hours before heading to the hotel. I'm all for a precruise meet if anyone else is intrested.
