Magical Beginnings?

Hi-
I am new to this board as we slowly decide on whether to by a DVC or float to another "timeshare"...

I have been reading postings and see references to "Magical Beginnings" as a way to purchase direct from Disney.

What is this? Does anybody know?

In simple terms, if you buy directly from Disney Vacation Club, and you do not want to use your points in the first year...DVC will buy those points back from you. In effect, this gives you a lower purchase price.

Many people buy into DVC while on vacation, and they don't want to come right back the same year.

Instead of paying $95 a point, you are getting your points for somewhere in the $80's.

We have the video package and booklets--didn't realize the $1500 they were talking about was called "Magical Beginnings".

We might lean towards buying resale--so that we can call another location home--and possibly get more points for less--we lose out on the additional years--but we will be in late 60s/early 70s when the current "used" ones expire.
