I was told the following by DVC GUIDe

MG is totally different than b4

u purchase BCV,HH,Vb at $84 per point.
get a $10 discount on BCV and $15 point discount on HH AND VB

MY DVC GUIDe, said big difference.

#1
It use 2 be $5 per point, 4 MB not $10-$15

#2.
and u had 2 pay prorated dues, so u were really only getting $3 per point gain.
but now u get do not pay prorated dues.
so u get full economic value of $10 per point reduction or $15 per point reduction

so here is hot it works

u purchase
100 BCV
OCTOBER use year
u purchase 4 $84 PER PIONT
u get discount of $10 per point 2 sell back OCTOBER,2002 dues and u pay no annual dues.
so u pay only $74 per point

U then pay prorated annual dues of 11/12 on 2003 Dues, beause this is last day of JAn,2003.
U then get 100 BCV POINTS 2 start using October 1,2003-sEPTEMBER 30,2004

qUESTION #1
I would appreciate everyone's thoughts on how this will effect
the resale market

Question #2.
Could it be possible, that DISNEY more like 2 excercise ROFR,
with this MB PROGRAM.
IF people can buy BCV at $74 per point and use a credit card or get DISNEY FINANCING.
Would DISNEY Be more likely 2 purchase BCV back at say $68 per point and sell immediately 2 others, because more people interested in BCV RESALE thru DVC than BCV RESALE thru TIMESHARE RESALLER.

If anyone has thoughts, that r completely different than mine.
Thank u 4 your thoughts.

The information you posted was very informative, but why do you make it so difficult for people to read? I think someone else also commented about your posts on another thread you started.

I was just speaking with our guide about add-ons this week. I could have misunderstood her, but I was under the impression that dues would begin the day I signed the deal. We are considering an add-on and we need to decide and complete the deal by the end of Feb because you cannot add-on in the last 3 months of your use year if you plan on using Magical Beginnings. I thought she told me that dues would start the day we closed, I would be giving back my June 2002 points and I would receive my points for June 2003.

I'm confused about what you are trying to sayabout the prorated dues.

u would pay 2003 prorated annual dues, but u r getting 2003 points

u would not pay 2002 prorated annual dues, on the 2002 points that u sold back 2 DVc 4 $10-$15 per point.

i was told this is big difference, in MB 2day, than MB of the past

dBOND, is this clear???

It has always been that way buying direct with DVC, nothing has changed. You start paying dues on the day you sign up (not closing date). They don't go back to the beginning of the use year you got to collect dues. So if you sign up tomorrow, you would pay approximately 11/12 of 2003 dues (1/31 to 12/31 = ~11 months).

I signed up in early September 1999 and got April 1999 points. I paid approximately 1/3 of 1999 dues (September, October, November & December), they did not go back to April.

u = you
4 = for
r = are
2day = today

DEBBIE

is the following correct or not?

under old MB, u paid prorated annual dues on on points that u sold back? and MB was only $5 per point

now u do not pay prorated annual dues, on points that u sell back
and MB is $10-$15 per point

I think u r telling me ,that U think I am incorrect

I was wondering the same thing in the above post.According to your profile it says you are a "investment advisor income tax preparation". I am sure you don't type like that on your returns that you do.;)
I yell at my 16 yr old daughter when she IM's her friends with that type of typing.

You pay pro-rated dues based on the calendar year, not use year. No matter what use year you get, no matter if you use magical beginnings or not, you pay dues starting on the day you sign up pro-rated to the end of 2003. So if you sign up tommorrow, Jan 31 is day 31 of 2003, you would pay dues for 334 days (365 - 31). 334/365 = .915 x annual dues. It has nothing to do with use year or if you use magical beginnings.

The point about magical beginnings is that you start paying dues immediately, but you don't get any points to use until later in the year. For example, if you get September 2002 points, sell them back, you start paying dues tomorrow for the rest of the year (.915 of annual), but you don't get any points to use until September 2003.

THANK U 4 your response

I believe that u r incorrect with your last paragraph
according 2 my DVC SALESMAN

I thought he said that this MB was different than previous MB in that points u sell back, no prorated annual dues r paid

with previous MB, when u sold the points back 2 DISNEY, u did pay prorated annual dues

But, maybe I am still confsued.

I am going 2 call DVC guide again

THank u 4 very much 4 your post, u r probably correct and i am probably confused and wrong

DEBBIE B

here is a simple ?

is MB better 2day than MB of the past?

MY DVC GUIDE CLEARLY TOLD ME THE FOLLOWING

more value 2 point sold back 2 DVC, now with MB than MB in the past

and no prorated annual dues on the DVC points sold back with MB OF THE PREST

which he clearly said, was different than DVC POINTS sold back thru MB in the past

THANK U 4 your post

DebbieB, that's exactly how I understood it from my DVC guide, I will pay dues for the calendar year from the day I sign the paperwork. Kansas, you are confusing me with your hieroglyphics, your typos and your use of the word prorated.

Kansas....

The use of "u" isn't so bad but using "r", "?", "2" and "4" is very confusing and highly unpleasant to read. It saves you a few keystrokes but forces your audience to re-read your sentences multiple times to try and get the gist of your actual meaning. Think of it as cruel and unusual punishment.

I'm just pointing this out explicitly since you seem to be ignoring the comments of the previous posters. I figure you don't really care if people have trouble reading your posts but in that case what's the point of posting in the first place?

You pay NO dues for 2002, the people who owned in 2002 payed 2002 dues. In this case Disney owned the points and probably on paper paid themselves dues. You PAY dues for 2003. Since the points you are selling back came from 2002 no you do not pay dues on the points you are selling back.

Annual dues are not tied to use year. They are tied to the calendar year. At least that is the way I understand them.

Kansas the reason you don't pay prorated dues on the MB points is because they are from the 2002 use year. You will pay prorated dues on the 2003 use year points. This is unique because Disney bills on a calendar year for dues- so even though your use year may be October, your 2003 dues are payable now. I think the confusion is because Disney is issuing contracts with 2002 points which makes it a little different scenario then say buying a feb 03 contract. Dues are always prorated from date of purchase, they don't retroactively charge anyone for previous years points. So its all about the timing for you.

Kansas,

While I can read what you post, I can also read upside down text. That doesn't mean I enjoy doing it on a regular basis. Are you posting from a cell phone?

All,

I want everyone to notice that Richyams spelled out the word ditto for us rather than just typing ". Now there's a considerate person!
