magical beginnings

Thinking about an add-on. My use year is June and I would like to add-on before the price increase. My guide said that I would have to make the purchase on June 1, prices increase June 2.

Is the "Magical Begginings" Offer worth doing? I think at Vero or HH you get $5/point. That does not seem worth the difference to defer a year of points. If June is my use year when would I need to use thse new add-on points? I don't think I can bank any of the 2002 points.

Everytime I think have all of the info. about points & use years, I find myself in yet another scenerio!

We added VB recently. My guide told me that in order to get MB, you had to be within the 50% banking window for that year (9 months). This may be may be different than your situation, as mine was $10 at VB. What did your guide tell you about it?

You would get June 2002 points, so you have plenty of time to bank (November 30). I would not use MB for $5. You are paying $3.70 in dues on those points, so you are practically giving them away.

I just checked my notes. He did say that it was a $10 buy back.

He also said that I would not get points for 2002, but for 2003 and that if I could borrow form the following year if I neede to.

That is why I can only purchase for that one day at the current price--because of the window. It makes sense now. Those points are not available to me until June 1. I did not ask if I did not do MB if I could bank those points, but since they are 2002 it would make sense that I could.

So now I have to decide if I want that 50 now for an extra $500, or wait until next year and pay less.

I was thinking BCV when you said $5, I think HH or Vero is $10. Is there a minimum # of points for magical beginnings? Not sure.

It depends on whether you need the points between now and next year. Or if banking the points would make a longer trip for you next year. I used magical beginnings when I originally bought in 1999, sold back 150 of 250 for $10/pt (that was the max that could be sold back). I've been using the remaining 100 banked points to extend trips the last 3 years, I have 9 left after this year (banking extra current year points each year).

Minimum is 50 points. Of course I would love more but we just added at VWL and I thought I should get something at VB, so why not do it before the price increase.

If we do add on a VB that will bring my total points up to 270. I feel like the more I get the more I want. It is difficult to stay anyplace else now. We have tried but we always compare it to DVC and there just is no comparison.

we spent a day at Vero in Jan. after the Disney Wonder and on our way to my Mom's in Palm Beach. We loved it.

Just checking, My guide had said there were no avaliablities for Sept use year for VWL and lately out of the blue it seem there is a lot of VWL DVC add-on's ( not private resales ) beign purchased. I was gonna look at BCV's but wasnt really ready to buy another 300 points to have the time/rooms avaliable - And if I went on a waitlist with DVC for the VWL Sept use year, I probably would have waited till after the June increase before it became avaliable. I saw a re-sale for 180 VWL Sept points and just bought it and sent paperwork back to TTS and would have felt bad if the Sept use year "suddenly" became avaliable from my guide.
