Magic Your Way Ticket question....

We purchased 10 day Magic Your Way Ticket with Hopper option since we will be in Orlando for 10 days next month and they were only $6 more per person than a 7 day pass, but we did not add the No Expiration option yet, but understand we can add that before we leave.

My first question.... Since we will probably only hit the Disney parks for 7 days during our visit and will have 3 days left on the MYW tickets, doesn't it make sense to add the No Expiration option to them anyway since a 3 day Base ticket cost $181/149 (adult/child) and the No Expire option is $135 per ticket. I'm sure we will be back since the kids just love WDW!!

My second question....We also have one day left on our Hopper Tickets from our last visit in 2003. Assuming we upgrade our new tickets to the No Expire Option, should we use our old tickets on this visit and then end up with 4 day Hopper No Expire Magic Your Way tickets or does it matter?

I'm just trying to simplify the whole thing and not have 2 sets of tickets to keep track of, seems like it would be best to have them all on one ticket if possible unless there is some advantage to keeping the older tickets for later use.

Thanks!!

I would upgrade the tickets to the no expire option. Don't forget, if you go back in a year or two, the new tickets will probably cost even more than they do now, making your old tickets even a bigger bargin.
As for the old ticket, I would probably use it and then have the 4 days left over on the other, although either way you will have 4 days left. Just one less ticket to have to keep track of.

When you buy the no exp option, you buy it for your whole amount of tickets, so it would probably be best to use your old ticket while you are there on this trip and have 4 left over from the new set. That way they will be all together and less likely to get lost.

You don't have base tickets, you have Park Hoppers so your comparisons should be made against PHs. A three day MYW PH new that expires in 14 days costs $235.37. Days 8 thru 10 of your 10 day PH cost you $6.39 including tax using advance prices. The price to put the no expiration option on your 10 day ticket is $143.78 including tax.

So what's your pleasure for next trip? Buying a new three day expiring PH for $235.37 or adding the no expiration to your 10 day and having the three leftover days for $150.17 (give or take a penny or two on the tax).

I thought I heard they are no longer exchanging the old park hoppers towards new tickets. You would have to use the 1 day separate and then have 4 days left on your new ticket (which would come out the same).

All old unused tickets have a value attached... You have to take it to guest services to determine the value..

I would recommend adding the no expiration, and than using the old ticket, so you have a 4 day PH left to use on your next visit...

If you let the last 3 days go to waste without non-expiration, you are out six dollars.

If the one day left on the old ticket together with the 10 day non-expiring do not fully cover two whole vacations, you will blow your savings big time and more when you buy another ticket to finish the second vacation with. You may come out ahead when the remains of the second ticket, with non-expiration, fully cover a third vacation. This is true no matter which vacation you use up, as-is, the old ticket with one day.

Yes of course any leftover days have "value," ::yes:: but any tickets that were purchased before they started selling Magic Your Way tickets (early 2005, I believe) cannot be "upgraded" to any new ticket. You must use the ticket that you have "as is." :) Hope that this helps.
